Have a sneaking suspicion they will let you use srceamin eagle engine upgrades and still honor the warranty, would not think handlebar changes would matter.

Yeah, any warranty claim has to be relevant or related to the issue. I.e, if i change my discs or calipers and the motor blows up, its not impacted.

Im not interested in the SE engine upgrades, and when compared to aftermarket, dont think they even make a good cam for the M8's, which is why I need to have a chat about to dealer about options.

you are correct i went with the SE power cam which was about 110 hp and around 120 in torque, if i had another choice i would of gone with a S&S 475 cam or something similar, does anyone know if there is a difference in heads between a 114 & 117cu engine? I am debating with myself whether to update my 2020 FXLR S for a 2022 one or just chuck a 131 in it instead, what dilemma to have lol

Between those options, 131 for sure. Between standard LRS you only gain a couple of things. 117 over a 114 would be nice, but null n void if you've modified your 114. Could probably get some kinda big bore kit for the difference in trade in.

Ride the demo's is the go, I rode the low S when it came out, shop cammed it, tuned it, two into one exhaust, was seriously thinking about it by the time I got back from a test ride, jumped on mine and in 20 seconds had changed my mind again, never say never but!

yeah i mainly want to see what the LRST looks like in the flesh as to whether the fairing and bags are worth the extra $5k, i probably would only use the bags if i was going away for a couple of days

I test rode a 114 LRS with Cam (CR483? from APE), pipe etc. The bike ripped up top but definitely gave away low and mid end torque. Very VRODDY

I can't remember exactly what cam they had in this one John, it wasn't the Harley ones as they couldn't get them at the time, they were putting 468's in a few but I think it had an S&S one, it's escaped me, had nice manners though.

Confirmed only SE cams will have warranty on paper.... Now I gotta figure out what im doing.  Maybe thrash the fuck out of it for a year, if it doesnt blow, throw an aftermarket cam in it haha

Or you could just put in what you want from the start, after 2 years you are on your own anyway.

This was the discussion I had with the dude from HD.

Im not concerned in the SLIGHTEST that a CAMSHAFT will cause an issue. It will be an existing defect somewhere else (valve guide, oil pump, valve, whatever) that will be the issue, that a camshaft is blamed on. That is my concern. Very easy for them to say "yeah we'll inspect it and if its not the camshaft we wont mention it". But if the motor absolutely blows (and I've known 2x 117 that blew in the first week) I dont want the excuse to be a camshaft.

Well your only option is to put the approved SE stuff in as an upgrade then put in what you want when warranty has run out. Maybe the SE stuff is not that shithouse.
