Just found out lads that these speedos are now compatible with 2010 models and they even supply a cable to suck your Kms into the new speedo!! Trouble is - I can get it delivered here for about $300. Local dealer wants $460. And they wonder why we go OS. Hilly, It is a double edged sword. If they knew how to fix it, they would have. So do I really want people scratching their head over my bike trying to fix it. OR Do I gather the necessary information I need and fix it myself. I have a complete workshop full of tools and have wrenched the crap out of bikes all my life. well good news guys. I put one new plug in (due to the fact that the shop gave me two different ones !!) and struck lucky. The bike runs fine now and I got my HOG smile back. I guess my first hog maintenance lesson is change the cheap bits first!!, still I needed new HT leads as they were bad, and Ive put the old coil on e bay. Many thanks to all you guys that posted advice so quickly, its much appreciated. Hopefully I'll be able to return the favour one day. :0)

Thanks guys. Kiwidave my problem seems to be in the speedo itself as far as i can see. I had a look at the cable when i first got it and it seemed to spin freely and easily, and the odometer and trip meter run accurately. My speedo generally reads faster than im going but not by a common amount, and sometimes after stopping it takes a minute or 2 to return back to 0. Good point about the electric speedo's, i'll give him a call back to check which type he was talking about. Cheers.

Hi, recently after riding and stopping in traffic and lights the heat coming off the Bike. (ULTRA) is unbearable and is actually feeeling like it is buring my jeans. I have opened the little slots at the front of the bottom fairing but it makes 0 change unless your moving. Has anyone else exeperince this, as I have had 4 ultras from 1995 - 2008 and this bike is the one which I am feeling it the most.   could it be the tuning making the engine too hot. I am not a techy, so have no idea. ...

hi guy's again , "MIKER" here  . changed my user name from "MEAN 1" to "MIKER"  , i used MEAN 1  as i used to own a Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Mean Streak & Vulcan VN2000  in the past & had that user name from a while ago . i figured i dont own the Mean Streak anymore & have a Harley Davidson now , so its pointless to carry that user name over to this site  , admin said they cant change user names & to de-register & re-register the new user name . so be it , back to 0 posts counts again...

I thought it sounded like BS Thruster, but the site was recommended by someone on here I think. I then thought maybe they'd added a 0 by mistake (so $17 for post) but that didn't sound right either so I just thought they could shove it where the Sun don't shine. I may price a set of the chrome cvers the next month or so. I did want to grab an Xied (or whatever its called) but they haven't answered my email - which usually doesn't make me a companies most loyal customer... I need to find...
