Being treated with some weird antibiotic because I'm allergic to penicillin. Then I saw this on the label. Rang the chemist, apparently I'll start spewing 10 minutes after contact with alcohol, even skin contact with something like hand sanitiser.
Won't wash any brake parts with metho this week.

Yeah I miss those posts too Balo, but as you said, ya gotta do what ya gotta do and good on you for making that decision if you had to do it.
At least I only have another 2 days plus 36 hours on the medication. Apparently it takes 36 hours to flush the stuff out of the body after you stop taking it.

The other side of the coin is maybe you were not having enough beer if things were not going well, or maybe there is a better morale booster out there for ya. Lots of shit to chose from these days if church and tea parties don't work for ya. So I have heard.

It was a lovely day for a ride today, cold at 6am but clear and sunny, temperature rising as the day progressed. Lots of people out on bikes, a few groups of Harley's went past, heading for the pub.
I was trying to pull the pump out of one of my septic tanks. The access cover was jammed, couldn't lift it out. Got it after a couple of hours with a mix of some big wood blocks, a length of 6" by 4" hardwood, some chain and shackles and a hydraulic jack under one end of of the 6 by 4.
Was just lifting up the pump to see if the intake was blocked when I got a fire brigade call out.

Now this one was a real kick in the nuts. As mentioned in the ride pics thread was really looking forward to going on my old indie shops shop ride today because frankly I may not be still able to ride by December next year.
Had to go to the vet in Toogoolawah yesterday, regular monthly trip to get a couple of old French bulldogs hit up with anti inflammatories, help them still climb up the stairs on this old highset Queenslander. Did that, went to grab coffee at the only place in town that sells drinkable stuff, they'd closed early. Thought fuckit, went down to Esk to get a great coffee there. Only 32°, we were sitting in shade, but the girl Frenchy was getting agitated, wanted to race over and start humping a pretty boy poodle cross that was sitting nearby. She's like that. She had a big drink just as we left, spewed it up out on the footpath, managed to inhale some of that, started to blow froth from nose and have difficulty breathing. By the time we got back north her tongue was going blue and she was near dying.
Got back to the vet, she went on oxygen, hit up with antibiotics and sedatives, stayed overnight. Going to pick her up now, vet bills up to $1200, kiss goodbye to the ride and beer budget for a while.

Thanks fellas. PB, if I didn't think that, I wouldn't have pulled out the wallet. Though got a laugh about the words you used, loyal and well loved. My wife used those words about me the other night when I was getting grumpy about being crook. I had to agree with her, told her I had been very well loved with great skill and passion for the 28 years we've  been  together. Smoothie, she said.
Thanks for the music suggestions Hilly. The links don't work for me probably because I don't have a YouTube account. So something by Motorhead for the first, and whose song "On the Run" for the second?

God Was Never On Your Side by Motorhead, that link is to a film clip of a biker in the wild lands and On The Run by The Jompson Brothers, forgot you couldn't see links.

Do you reckon the goblin princess is saying thanks boss?
Thanks for that Hilly, enjoyed both of them. Never really been into Motorhead, but liked that one. Will have to listen to more of there music. Never was under any illusion that god was on my side, been wearing a Thors hammer for a lot of years now. And loved the video, like to see Harley's being ridden with skill and enthusiasm on dirt, like dirt a lot, and it tends to keep the posers away.
Had never heard of the Jompson Brothers, like their sound. And the video was a ripper, recognised most of the content, Max nodding off at the wheel of the Interceptor, a lot of Kowalski in the Dodge from Vanishing Point, Peter Fonda in Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry, McQueen from Bullit. Had to scratch my head a bit about Jim Morrison driving his own Shelby Mustang in his unreleased art house short HWY, and the nicely bobbed R60 and sidecar from the Geatest Bar in America. I think that went straight to DVD sales, but is a great movie if you like to ride bikes and don't mind a drink.
There used to be a pirate upload of it on YouTube, which is where I saw it some years ago. Went looking for it there today, it's gone. But did find it for free on Choppertown Moto Movies:

It was pissing down rain this arvo so watched it again.
The only bits I didn't recognise in the On the Run video was the first couple of shots, the bloke lying next to his bike feeding a small fire, then sipping his breakfast from a tin cup. The bike I think turns up in a later segment, rigid Pan, flat bars, Sporty tank, short sissybar, no rake or stretch. Any one recognise that movie?
Thanks again Hilly, took my mind off shit for a few hours.

    You see a lot 👍

Glad the dog made it, mates get fewer as time goes by.

I'll chuck this one in as well, they drag the song out a bit for the clip but the bikes are cool.
Motorhead, I Don't Believe A Word, (clip is called) Pedro Junior.

    For those with tube......
