I read a yarn way back, probably bullshit but it gave me a grin, old biker would add a few drops into his tank everytime he filled up, straight piped flame spitting shovel, reckoned it soothed it's angry soul.

    G'day Hilly,

agreed, but not in the kitchen with family and a serving of Inner Circle's best, which is one of the reasons the green whistle didn't have any effect. Conclusion: rum is a better pain killer than the green whistle.
Downside: 3 or 4 visits from some alcoholic anon. or similar during my visit in hospital.

Hope you made a full recovery and all's good today. And yes, that's lovely rum.
But back to the cause of it all, if you'd had this fellah living quietly behind the fridge there would have been no mouse around to terrorise the family. He wanted to set up home behind some friends slow combustion stove one cold Obi summer in the 80s.

Have met some good people through this site in the last 18 years or so, a few of them have gone to the highway in the sky now.
I think this was the last Aussie forum left, the others shut down some time ago, one moved to Facebook but it's not the same.

I think this forum has also gone to facebook, I have never bothered but I may have to, I have been a member on here 17 years

Sad to see this site going and I refuse to sign up again to that Cesspool called Facebook. Dumped that years ago and found it was the best thing I ever did.

Anyone on here with the skills, time and inclination to negotiate a takeover with Kingchops?
Apparently there is a slight income stream though dunno what the hosting and other costs would be.

It's a shame Theo but if you have no interest then why would you bother, I get it although I thought you had passed ownership over to Rodders ages ago but I guess he dropped away as well, I admit I have taken its existence for granted to some degree however I appreciate the effort put in to keep it going this long, all things pass as they say, cheers y'all.

I tried messaging Kingchops to establish what commitments I would need to invest (equipment, time and money) to continue the forum but the system gave me a message stating the user couldn’t be found and/or he’s not accepting messages.
So I guess it’s a definite farewell.  Thanks for the years of advice and look after yourselves.

Well, as the newest member, this is sad news. I looked forward so much each day to read what was happening, and felt I was finding some good mates here. Sure hope someone picks up the reins, and happy to pay a monthly or annual fee if it helps make it worth while for someone. If not, thanks for the help with my old Ironhead.

If we go that way it's gotta be tight riens on who gets let in because as soon as a Harley group opens on there all the sellers join and flood it with for sale shit, if you keep them fuckers out and keep it for advise, banter and builds it might work ok, maybe 🤷
I'm easy to find if you come looking.

a hunting group i am in opened a facebook site 12 months ago and it has been hammered with adds and totally unrelated shit.the site was an open one to allow new members access and to promote the branch.good vetting of potential members would be a must.... if some has the time to do that, which i imagine most of us wouldnt want to commit to.

Well we could form a little Oz ghetto on HDForums, sign on with our HDFA user names.
That way we can still keep in touch, probably the simplest way to do it, no one here needs to do extra work. We might need to clean up our language a bit.
I see you're on the XL forum Hilly. You might have seen me there but I don't go there much, seeing you need cloud storage to upload photos, can't just pick them off your phone gallery.
