Phil Leash, bass player for the Grateful Dead for their 30 year long rampage.
And that's gotta be enough reason to wander out to the back paddock looking for shrooms, come back, some beer for mellowness and play some music loud.
Great bass player, Jerry might take the song out into the universe but when it was time to come back Phil would be there underneath laying down a safe place to land.

I reckon your brothers undertakers holding paddock comment is a ripper, I'll probably steal it and use it.
And do you feel that the four winds have blown you safely home again to King Island?

It happened quickly and without any forward planning so yeah mate, something was at play.

    Boxing memories died today
Fool me once ,shame on you, Fool me twice...Nostalgia and boxing. I watched the Ali v Holmes fight many years ago wishing the legend of "the greatest" would shine. What a disaster! Again in 2024 Jake Paul v "Iron Mike" Tyson. Iron Mike was the greatest of his era way back when mobile phones weren't a thing and when computers had a green screen. Jake Paul at 27 years old fought "rusty" Mike pushing 60 and the sparring match went the distance. What was I thinking? That the 20 year old killing machine of the 1980's would be immune from father time?Yes Mike, you were a legend and well done for getting a big payout. JP has the chance now to challenge a real/current heavyweight because of the worldwide interest in watching him lose! Does he have the courage to become a real heavyweight boxer by beating a real-time contender or is he just a very successful promoter who will continue to exploit the safe and very lucrative option?I think the latter.

I agree fully, and thankfully resisted the temptation to tune in knowing it would be nothing more than showbiz entertainment promotion. I think that boxing as a sport suffers credibility with some very questionable score cards shocking both fans and fighters.

my take, round 1 and 2, 58 yoears dancing as he won both rounds, from round 3 on he walked, I never seen hin pull a punch, even if he missed, he still threw it, take backwards steps, his entire career he would attack in close and be devastating with a left hook or an overhand right, even when he didn't throw the punch, Paul was flinching

all the lead up video of Tyson in the gym had a (albeit a 58 year old man) knocking the heck out of the bag and sparing partners, nothing like the actual fight

it was purely a special for Paul, if it was not scripted, I thing the old man would have mopped the floor with him

Great aussie band The Giants lost Stewie a founding member and lead singer last week. The Giants were better known overseas than here in Australia but a fantastic ozzy rock band. Go hard or go home!
    RIP Stewie

    Stewie Woods was good value.
They had Stewie, Wilbur Wild, Russel Morris and Angry Anderson on stage for friday night entertainment at the 2009 National Hog Rally in Launceston in 2009.
Jimmy Barnes was the headline act on Saturday night, but the boys on friday night were way out in front.

Yes you are correct Stewie was good value. What a night that would have been, Jimmy had no chance against those boys.

No one anyone here ever heard of, but my good mate of 40 years, Rob. Ex navy clearance diver, ex bike cop on a K100, ex private investigator....no, he didn't like the quiet life. The sort of bloke you can turn up on the doorstep at midnight after a marriage unexpectedly shits itself and your welcome to stay as long as necessary.  He tried to put bikes behind him for 15 years, but I threw him the keys to the Sporty while I was staying there, told him to bring it back when he was ready. He turned up 3 days later with a new girlfriend.
He then had the bad taste to buy a series of GS BMWs and ride with a mob of mostly BMW riders out of the Sunny Coast. I would occasionally show them some bush rides that I'd done on the Sporty, much to their amazement. Went to his wedding last June, went to ring him up last week for a yarn but the phone was disconnected. Hunted around for a bit and found out that he'd been dead and burned back in December, most of the notification handled through Facebook, which I don't do.
    Just unfortunate oversight.
So Rob, you were a good mate, the best sort of bloke to run backup in a tough situation, gonna think of you a lot, gonna miss you. Life was never too quiet with you around. You looked better on the Sporty than any of the other bikes.

So very sorry to hear about your loss Steve. I lost my lifelong mate thru a very aggressive brain cancer after coming back from the forth USA riding trip together....unlike your picture of Rob i only have the mental picture of Dave and i side by side on route 66 on ultras only a few feet apart but side by side running at 100mph. Dave died less than 6mths after that. I feel your loss....thoughts with you my friend. To Rob and Dave
