One more day and the trip is over. Did Charter's tower to Rocky in driving rain and mostly single digit temps...800 KLM with wet nuts wasn't on my to do list. Hopefully the Bruce highway will be open at Gympie as The coast is getting 100kph winds and cyclonic rain.

    Single digit temps?
And you are that far north!
    Almost unbelievable.
You could have been riding at Liaweene here in tas the other morning at -9 degrees with no rain.
Fuck winter. Yesterday there was a thick frost at my place and there was still snow on the ground from last Monday.

Even the local cops say its cold!

"Even the local cops say its cold!"
C'mon Pauly, we are not that dumb and already know the local cops up there can not even recite the alphabet let alone string half a sentence together.

Got my drive anything Licence up that way long time ago, cause I was a nice guy, and rode a motorbike, and think I bought Sargent a beer.

I think, I'm going to lose my drivers license...
and all just because of a stupid police officer...
The conversation went like this, when I got pulled over in my car:
Officer: "License and registration, please, I think you are drunk!"
Me: "I assure you, I did not drink anything."
Officer: "Ok, let's do a little test! Imagine driving in the dark on a highway at night, when you see two lights in the distance. What is this?"
    Me: "A car."
Officer:"Of course! But which one? A Mercedes, an Audi or a Ford?"
    Me:"I have no idea!"
    Officer:"So, you're drunk."
    Me:"But I didn't drink anything."
Officer:"Okay, one more test -- Imagine, you drive in the dark on a highway at night, and there is one light coming at you. What is it?
    Me:"A motorcycle."
Officer:"Of course! But which one? A Honda, a Kawasaki or a Harley?"
    Me:"I have no idea!"
    Officer:"As I suspected, you're drunk!"
Then I started to get annoyed and asked a counter question.
Me:"So..., counter question -- You're driving in the dark on a highway at night and see a woman on the roadside. She wears a mini skirt, fishnet stockings, high heeled shoes and only a bra as a top. What is this?"
    Officer:"A prostitute of course."
Me:"Yes, but which one? Your daughter, your wife or your mother?"
Things went downhill from there and now I have a court date to attend...

About 15 years ago when pulled up for a breath test when riding the Sporty to work on a Friday morning and asked How long since your last drink? I kept a straight face and replied Not since I found Jesus 3 months ago. I still got tested of course. I kept at it for 5 years, adding the years to my answer. I finally gave it up when stopped one day at Mapleton by a copper who had a close look at me, then at the ratty flame paint job, and said, Let me guess, you're the bloke who hasn't had a drink since he found Jesus 5 years ago?
I thought that was a good time to stop being a smart arse.

Yes its a breakout. Std A/C with a home made pre cleaner. Runs the std big tyre and has never had a puncture! He showed me a photo of the bike doing a creek crossing and got stuck. Water was over the primary and looked nearly up to the bottom of the barrels. Asked him to forward the pic to me but never received it.

Not really much of a photographer FC. Prefer to see things live rather than thru a camera lens. Have a few personal shots of me and the gang at the tip etc but wont post those.

He would benefit from some fork gaiters. Good to see he's not all precious about it. Oh, I never ride on dirt, it would spoil the resale value.......

Might have to go up and say g'day. Rode up to Laura in '98.
With that last pic you can see he definitely needs fork gaiters. I've got them on 2 out of 3 of mine, even the USD forks on one of the Victories.

Funnily i did ask him about fork seals and he claimed to have never had a failure.
