Trip to the tip

    Well the oils are done, diff oil refreshed, every bolt loctited, wet weather gear at the ready and 7000klm return ahead. Off to the tip Friday morning @0430, first night Airlie Beach. Bring on that lovely FNQ warmth....it was 31 in Bamaga the other day but feels like 36.

    A touch warmer than here at Sunny Coast....13 degrees and raining. Its currently 29 degrees at Bamaga. Sunday it was 31 but felt like 37.

    Cheers Keith. Not much of a pic person but lets see how we go. Been a bit of rain up there so hopefully the rubber side remains in the mud and not pointing towards the sky! Part of the adventure i guess.
    Stayed of the sticky bums and pies in a effort to get a little fitter....saw what it did to porky Steelo and was alarmed...

    Its interesting who you meet..my neighbor 4 doors down spent 12yrs up the tip building schools , halls etc for the government so have had a few locals send me a msg after he let them know i was headed their way.

    Have a great trip fella.
    I did it mid 80s with a bunch of guys on XR500s  They were the bike back then for Enduro, everyone had one.  We had a lot of fun.  Pretty sure its a tiny bit more civilised road wise up there now.

    Yes Binnsy the main development rd is supposedly pretty good but we intend doing old telegraph one way and development rd home. You know what usually happens when you have a plan though...
