And the Magnum tactical boots that are on the ADF approved list. Although to be fair, the issue boots are mostly Oz made Redback Terra, I think.

Any currently serving ADF members on here who can comment on this?

Mate, if you've won't buy stuff made in China, you've not bought anything electrical, any general consumer item, any jeans  and probably no new underpants in the last 10 years. I'm not saying it's good, but most transnational companies have transferred the world's manufacturing to China in that time.

I understand it is virtually impossible not to buy some stuff from there but they can stick motorcycles and cars and other stuff up their clakkas as far as I'm concerned.
If you take it all the way where does it end?. We buy our warships and military equipment from them.?

No they dont build our warships etc....we just pay France $835million to NOT build subs for us.....some $700million more than they were entitled to under the break fee clause. Total bill to taxpayers.....3.4 billion. How good is our government at economic policy.

Standby for outrage and condemnation from Greens/Teals pretty soon......Australia is close to announcing our new subs are going to be built here at home, sadly for the Greens/Teals they will be nuclear powered! SUPRISE MOTHERFUCKERS...

Looks like they're heading down the Street track again. I'm sure that someone out their loves their Street 500, but I haven't met them yet.
But, I hope they sell millions of them, and manage to stay a successful business.

So funnily enough the following sales data was published by MN in 2020....."Harley’s Street 500 topped the ‘Cruiser ‘category while the Street Glide Special again topped the ‘Touring’ segment.

I take two things out of that article
The Street 500 is a learner approved bike and that is the reason it has achieved reasonable sales numbers.
The fact that some fukwit thinks it is a 'Cruiser', does not make it a 'Cruiser'.

I wanted every 10th resident of India and China to buy one, make HD a fortune, but those sales figures are hard to find. It sold well here sure, but the Oz market is pretty small.
I only know 1 person who bought one, Late 30s woman, her first bike since a couple of years on a Honda 250 in her early 20s. She loved being back on 2 wheels, liked the bike for 6 months, but then got bored by it.  She now rides a Sportster S and loves it, particularly the way she can pull ahead of her husband riding his late model Fat Boy. He must have felt that made his dick shrivel up, because his been pouring money into the Fat Boy motor.  It still can't catch the Sportster S, she's still laughing about it.

A kid that worked at the same place as i did bought one as his first Harley. I helped him a few times with some basic maintenance and i was surprised at how poor the quality of things are with them.

Pretty sure we got the Asian built ones here. Fit and finish, and general quality of design looked pretty low to me, but so did my 90 Sportster. Then the Softtail models looked superb, FXRs and Sportsters looked a lot cheaper, and were.

The USA, Canada and Mexico ones were made in Kansas City. Rest of the world ones were made in India.
For the developed world they were supposed to be leg openers, in other places probably some ones Ultimate bike.
    I'd rather have a Royal Enfield 500.
