You're not actually fucking serious are you? Maybe go back and re-read everything that I've ever written on here about it, really slowly. I'm acutely aware of what they're supposed to do and yes, initially we were told the vaccines would stop infection and transmission.

It's only when they very obviously didn't that the story started changing to reduce your chances of getting and spreading the virus, active for a shorter time, less viral load etc, etc. Even now that it's completely out of control (but slowing down) they're still desperately trying push people into getting vaccinated and boosted to protect themselves and others. Queensland is mandating vaccines for teachers and the fuckwit in Western Australia for everyone for virtually everything, why?

As for people being more vulnerable, go and have a look at the stats for highly vaccinated countries and how the number of cases skyrocketed during Delta and now Omicron, especially with waning vaccines. Their death tolls are still much lower so the vaccines are doing their job but those variants are also less deadly. Now people are getting boosted after four months and soon to be after three. How effective really are the vaccines, how long do you want to keep that up for?

The NSW premier advised today that they have 200 people in ICU and 50% of them are unvaccinated, Queensland I think it is around 50% as well. My question is why are 50% of them in there that are vaccinated?

I'm not trying to convince anyone to get vaccinated or not get vaccinated, what you do is entirely your own choice and risk, I really don't care. But I'm sick to death of the complete hypocrisy and discrimination against people based on a bullshit narrative that unvaccinated people are automatically carrying and spreading the virus and a risk to everyone else when many unvaccinated people will never catch it or have very little trouble if they do and Djokovic's case is a classic example.

Sure, rules are rules Jacko (for which he supposedly had an exemption) but he was absolutely no risk to himself or anyone else in Australia. And anyone who looks at this honestly, logically and not emotionally because they simply dislike Djokovic or think he's arrogant will see exactly that.

Gee Jay Dee you seem rather excited for no apparent reason. Like yourself i don't care if you get the jab or not but think its a kick in the guts to Victorians to lock them down, beat them, fine them for not complying with Covid directions (regardless of if you believe them or not) then allow a non citizen in to play tennis with no vax. People in Australia have lost their jobs for not complying . As for him being a risk is pure speculation on your behalf.

Just for transparency i have had two jabs.

I don't take forums or characters on them too seriously but accusing me of misrepresenting to me is accusing me of lying and I don't fucking lie so yes, I didn't appreciate it.

I completely agree with you regarding Victoria, Daniel Andrews is a power drunk tyrant who desperately needs to be removed from office, like a few other premiers. The Djokovic situation definitely would have been a huge slap in the face to Victorians who have suffered under his ridiculous rule but although distasteful, it would have been a small win for freedom of choice. Something we're going to have much less of if or when this thing ever ends.

I know you have had at least two jabs, you've already stated it on here.

Your point is taken but again no need to get so ancy....the misrepresentation is in the fact that somehow you believe that a covid jab will stop you getting or passing on the virus. That is not true....If a vaccine has, for example, 70% efficacy, it means a person vaccinated in a clinical trial is around two-thirds less likely to develop the disease than someone in the trial who didn’t get the vaccine. Its not a golden bullet, perhaps never will be, its a band aid at best.
As for lying....we ALL lie....we do it everyday me included.

    Ha ha,

I like to call it healthy discussion. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind and know I wouldn't anyway, just stating things how I see them, for better or worse. I'd really love to see some balance, common sense and honesty from everywhere about this whole thing and that's just not going to happen sadly.

There's a lot of scaremongering and sensationalising and it's incredible to sit back and watch just how polarised society has become about a virus and vaccines (among other things). Many conspiracy theorists would say it's all by design, who knows?

Jay Dee took the time to do as requested. Views expressed are personal views and regardless if we believe the narrative or not from government until someone else comes up with a alternate set of data about whos sick, their status and underlaying health issues that is what's on the record. My own daughter lost her job as a midwife for not being vaxed.

Professor Catherine Bennet would disagree with your assessment of the vaccines ability to reduce transmission and infection Jay Dee, especially if you have the booster as it fortifies the original, people I find believe whatever the fuck fits their narrative, I try to keep an open mind and listen to those in the field relative to the subject not some random on the internet, no disrespect intended.
My wife is an ICU nurse and now a NUM, the amount of twisted misinformation she has to deal with each day beggars belief.
Novak should never have been granted a visa in the first place, he knows it, the government knows it and so does tennis Australia, they all hide behind narrative...... that'll do me.

As you know I always appreciate and respect your input Hilly, certainly no disrespect taken but what's a NUM?

I've listened to Dr Catherine Bennet (if she's the one with glasses that's always on the ABC) and I reckon she'd have have everyone living in a plastic bubble if she could, it's actually very scary to listening to her about this. Dr Gerrard, the new Queensland CHO is fantastic, really a breath of fresh air and I try to catch him every day. I'd love to be able to talk privately with him and ask him some questions.

I try to be like you and hear all sides and it goes back to my previous post, trying to find real balance is very hard and I'm sorry, but I just don't trust the politicians or media. There's too much big pharma money and power involved for me to be fully comfortable with that, feel free to call me a tin foil hat wearer if you like.

And for the record, four people that I work with have recently caught Covid. Two I know are boosted, one is only double and the other is at least double, I don't know if he's boosted but I suspect not.

Jd first up your not a tin foil hat person at all, all we can do is sift thru the maze of information and make our own informed decision. The big pharmas that you refer to....its pfizer that were the only company charging for it all along...AstraZeneca are doing it for a non profit basis and for free to "poor nations".

Jay Dee a NUM is a nurse unit manager and I don't think that about you cobber, I'm constantly educating my 18 year old son on the dangers of the media.
7 people died of covid in QLD today, one had had the booster, with the original strain vaccines did a really good job but it's mutating and the goal posts keep moving, it's frustrating to follow and be up to date.
Did you know Spain has reported another mutation? Delta and Omicron combined to form a new one, they don't know what that means yet, shit storm just keeps coming.

The covid thing is really hugely over-rated, isn't it?.
Filthy rotten humans are the scourge of the planet and covid is the best mother nature can come up with?.
Fuck!, mother nature needs a good kick up the arse.
Back in the thirteen hundreds at least it had the gumption to release the bubonic plague.
