Tweet from Piers Morgan sums it up
" Covid rule cheat, immigration form liar, & anti-vaxxer icon Novak Djokovic loses final appeal against deportation & will be thrown out of Australia without being able to compete in Aus Open. Good."

Three years is a long time for an athlete at the top of his game. He may change his attitude after a serve of humble pie.
My issue with him is not his ideology but his attitude.
I reckon someone needs to give Craig Tiley a tap on the shoulder too.

Perhaps you may consider his selfishness and lack of empathy for for the rules of the land before you assume he partakes in said humble pie....i doubt very much he has that in his kit bag. It is rather interesting that no one has gone after his sponsors in todays politically correct world....is there a inference that they endorse anti vax stance....as Danny would say.."Just sayin"

The decision was unanimous and Djokovic was ordered to pay the government's legal costs.
    In a statement Djokovic said:
“I would like to make a brief statement to address the outcomes of today’s Court hearing. I will now be taking some time to rest and to recuperate, before making any further comments beyond this,” the statement reads. “I am extremely disappointed with the Court ruling to dismiss my application for judicial review of the Minister’s decision to cancel my visa, which means I cannot stay in Australia and participate in the Australian Open.
“I respect the Court’s ruling and I will cooperate with the relevant authorities in relation to my departure from the country.
“I am uncomfortable that the focus of the past weeks has been on me and I hope that we can all now focus on the game and tournament I love. I would like to wish the players, tournament officials, staff, volunteers and fans all the best for the tournament.
“Finally, I would like to thank my family, friends, team, supporters, fans and my fellow Serbians for your continued support. You have all been a great source of strength to me."

Jay Dee the vaccine is supposed to stop severe disease, seems to be working.

For a fairly short time (and then boosters) for some people depending on their other health issues and which vaccine absolutely, I don't think there's any question about it.

But from what I can see they also appear to be making some people more vulnerable to actually catching it, there's still a number of vaccinated and even boosted people ending up in hospital, ICU and/or dead so like everything in life, there are no guarantees.

The guy is a 34 year old, incredibly fit elite level professional athlete who's had the original strain of Covid and allegedly a later strain, either Delta or Omicron very recently as well and survived both times with no problem, unvaccinated too according to everybody.

For him, having to inject a vaccine that DOESN'T stop infection and/or transmission (proven well and truly by now) just to "play by the rules" or "do the right thing" is about as pointless as mounting an ashtray on the front mudguard of the Vespa he's sitting on in the photo above.

Jay Dee i think your misrepresenting what the jab is supposed to do. No one has said it will STOP covid or even slow it, its purpose is to reduce the severity of the virus and importantly keep you out of the hospital icu. You still never mentioned how having the jab makes you more vulnerable.

I'm into day 3 after testing positive last Saturday. I'm 63, heart disease and diabetes. Booster shot last December. Started with a minor sore throat, and today I have a minor cough with sniffles, just like a cold. Got it from work after a close contact. I never thought that the jabs were to stop me from getting it, but lessen the symptoms.

The drug companies were working through 2020 to find a vaccine to prevent covid19 and towards the end of 2020, in the US, pfizer, moderna and astrazenica claimed up to 95% efficacy at preventing the virus with a 2 shot dosage and that was the understanding when the TGA first approved those vaccines for use.
In Novevember 2020, the delta variant emerged and later a booster was introduced to combat that strain.
Now we have omicron which is less severe but more transmissible.
This virus has been evolving and so have the remedies but originally 2 shots were supposed to give you immunity.

You're not actually fucking serious are you? Maybe go back and re-read everything that I've ever written on here about it, really slowly. I'm acutely aware of what they're supposed to do and yes, initially we were told the vaccines would stop infection and transmission.

It's only when they very obviously didn't that the story started changing to reduce your chances of getting and spreading the virus, active for a shorter time, less viral load etc, etc. Even now that it's completely out of control (but slowing down) they're still desperately trying push people into getting vaccinated and boosted to protect themselves and others. Queensland is mandating vaccines for teachers and the fuckwit in Western Australia for everyone for virtually everything, why?

As for people being more vulnerable, go and have a look at the stats for highly vaccinated countries and how the number of cases skyrocketed during Delta and now Omicron, especially with waning vaccines. Their death tolls are still much lower so the vaccines are doing their job but those variants are also less deadly. Now people are getting boosted after four months and soon to be after three. How effective really are the vaccines, how long do you want to keep that up for?

The NSW premier advised today that they have 200 people in ICU and 50% of them are unvaccinated, Queensland I think it is around 50% as well. My question is why are 50% of them in there that are vaccinated?

I'm not trying to convince anyone to get vaccinated or not get vaccinated, what you do is entirely your own choice and risk, I really don't care. But I'm sick to death of the complete hypocrisy and discrimination against people based on a bullshit narrative that unvaccinated people are automatically carrying and spreading the virus and a risk to everyone else when many unvaccinated people will never catch it or have very little trouble if they do and Djokovic's case is a classic example.

Sure, rules are rules Jacko (for which he supposedly had an exemption) but he was absolutely no risk to himself or anyone else in Australia. And anyone who looks at this honestly, logically and not emotionally because they simply dislike Djokovic or think he's arrogant will see exactly that.

Gee Jay Dee you seem rather excited for no apparent reason. Like yourself i don't care if you get the jab or not but think its a kick in the guts to Victorians to lock them down, beat them, fine them for not complying with Covid directions (regardless of if you believe them or not) then allow a non citizen in to play tennis with no vax. People in Australia have lost their jobs for not complying . As for him being a risk is pure speculation on your behalf.

I don't take forums or characters on them too seriously but accusing me of misrepresenting to me is accusing me of lying and I don't fucking lie so yes, I didn't appreciate it.

I completely agree with you regarding Victoria, Daniel Andrews is a power drunk tyrant who desperately needs to be removed from office, like a few other premiers. The Djokovic situation definitely would have been a huge slap in the face to Victorians who have suffered under his ridiculous rule but although distasteful, it would have been a small win for freedom of choice. Something we're going to have much less of if or when this thing ever ends.

I know you have had at least two jabs, you've already stated it on here.
