Sure....go to the search bar and enter...Import.   Other than that why would you not buy a local bike...as the US$ will cost you Aust$1.38 plus import duty, GST , shipping etc.

I went through the process in the first half of 2012. The dollar was pretty good then and it was a worthwhile exercise. If you are a harley enthusiast and have the opportunity to get a unique bike, the system is in place but more dollars these days.
There were no RAW workshops in Tassie at the time so I spoke to a couple in Vic. I ended up dealing with American Car Sales who import cars and bikes.
They were bringing containers over from California.
I got a 09 CVO Fatbob off ebay in Connecticut for $18200, there were a couple on bikesales at the time for $30000 to $33000.
I arranged cross-country transport for about $500 to have it sent to California where it was loaded on the container and shipped to Melbourne.
The deal with American Car Sales cost me about $2500. After compliance I got them to transport it to Campbellfield where Tas Motorcycle Transport picked it up and delivered it to me for a couple of hundred.
I took possession of it about 6 months after I bought it, but I was stockpiling goodies for it while I was waiting.
I have a 1HD CVO Fatbob that I have done a lot of work on and will be keeping for a while.

There was a member here years ago who's name eludes me who did this for a living. Was based out near Windsor NSW from memory. It got to the stage where he basically said dont bother. With the dollar where it is, the regs and rules, the taxes and the hassle involved it is just not worth it. Seems like a good idea on paper, but dont they all?

Another thread has turned to shit because of the  " quote source removed " bullshit
Looks like speedy is back in the  guise of gary76
For the people who dont know who speedy is I shall explain. He is a sad cunt who enjoys starting new threads ( import Harley ) like this one and waits to see the reaction of the forum.
If gary76 is not speedy he will reply to these accusations but I am prepared to bet the rent money that the  gutless piece of shit wont reply.
    He is a sad cunt.
On a positive note I think I have figured out who number 214 is.   hh ?  magnum ?

speedy and gary76 are the same person.
He will be back next week calling himself something different again.
Why the fuck would he remove the opening post?
I reckon  HD Forums  need to address this problem.

I think he seems legit BB. I probably would have bailed in the first instant at the warm welcome but to his credit he came back and was appreciative of FB's in depth post and the thread has moved on from there. Could be of benefit to others.
In these times, there could be unique bargains to be had, but it all seems too hard when there are great bikes at your doorstep.

I think the guy is legit also Steelo , appears he did'ent do to much research before posting on here ??
there are bargains in the US market even with the low exchange rates, just be patient and selective, and know where to be looking.
Chopawezza [past forum poster Wayne] did not do the RAWS compliance he was a middle man.
I have a bike that has been dropped off at a shipping agent this week in CA, shared space in a seacon coming to Freo, CV 19 is also a game changer in the USA for all aspects of the process. Good luck to Gary76.

Thanks Keith & Retroman......What im looking for is around 2012 Road King with all hard touring pack. Theres a bloke over in USA that has one, for the price im willing to pay, but its a private sale,  I'm not to keen on that
Anyway still got to way all the cost up before i go further. Got to really find a deal at todays Aussie $ maybe 73cents
The only  feasible  time to buy is if the Aussie $ is 80cents or above
But ill be on the phone to West Coast Auto Compliance tomorrow
    Enjoy ur day riders
