    Ok, Thanks SB.
Does not make it offensive reading it forwards.

I do take a slightly contrary view. At a moment in time, the bloke managed to put one over the authorities and he's been laughing about it ever since. He's now been caught out after I guess someone complained.
If a court doesn't find it offensive using today's standards, he should get them back but not just because they were approved in the past.

Umm interesting view Mr Steelo. Your argument seems to revolve around the notion that he somehow used his intellect to trick or deceive those poor uneducated commoners at the RTA into issuing the plate in the first instance. That argument should be rejected on the basis that it (the plate) would be subject to the same criteria as say a plate bearing the name "Steelo" would you not agree.....? your point of someone complaining are unfounded as if there is indeed a complainant they remain unanimous at this stage and is merely speculative on your behalf. Lastly case law is a retrospective balance of our system that allows parity between current and previous judgments so unless there has been a huge swing in community values i would argue that status quo be returned and the plate returned along with the vexatious litigant being disciplined. The defense rests.

Govt wasting taxpayers dollars in legal fees because, well, they can. The guy bought the plates legally from the govt so if they want them back they should pay him for them at a price he thinks is reasonable.

Pb. It’s anonymous. Not unanimous. Permission to have the case thrown out due to a lack of coherent argument.

You don’t buy the plates. It’s not like they’re just sitting there waiting to be selected. You get the words or letters approved and someone else makes them.

And the case law you so eloquently speak of would be valid if the nameless bureaucrats knew what they were approving in the first instant. Not being tricked by a lie, ignorance, or silence by the applicant.

And btw, on my way for an overnight ride to woomera today.

I appeal that decision Mr Steelo ,  i do concede that there was a typographical error in my submission and thank you for the clarification. I must draw your attention to your exact wording regarding the issuing of the plates..."You get the words or letters approved " Now there is no suggestion at all that the owner made, authorized or illegally obtained these plates but they were in fact approved by a Government authority. I would suggest that the Authority in this instance is either negligent in its duty to protect outraged, unnamed person/s or at best merely incompetent in the approval of such a outrageous plate. I am therefore pursuing the death penalty in this matter.....LOL
PS Enjoy your ride and dont put your 4Q2 number plate on for the trip...

I dunno, but it seems in NSW you go to this website

and you can design your plates.
It appears they don't check everything for suitability, and leave it to the cops to sort out.

I tried LGPONR and it just says it is unavailable.

UPYUS2 This one is approved. You can try a few others on the web site, and see haw many people you can offend.
Then if the authorities try to recall it ring that fella for legal advice.

Mr Dickens sure had some good quotes about Lawyers.

" Lawyers are shy of meddling with the Law on their own account: knowing it to be an edged tool of uncertain application, very expensive in the working, and rather remarkable for its properties of close shaving than for its always shaving the right person."
