I have an 84 FLHX shovel and love riding it but how the hell do you guys get on and off in a dignified way with a tour pack fitted. Do you carry a little step ladder with you or do I need to spend more time in the gym. My bloody legs don't bend that far
Most of his would involve *falling* off.
Lean forward. Stand on the left side, grab the bars half way out each side and rest your weight forward on your arms, then swing your leg, knee bent behind you over the seat. I ride with a back rest on both of my bikes (courtesy of a broken back/several crushed vertebrae) and can easily get on the bikes this way without having to swing my leg over the backrest.
yes FC belt drive 84flhx there weren't a lot made. special edition electra glide to celebrate the end of the shovel. I have only had it about 6 months . 20k mile on the clock. Im very happy with it when I can get my leg over it
