After the first restrictions were lifted in June I went down on my 2010 FatBob.
While I was in hospital they discovered a tumour in my chest so I’ve spent the last 2 months in and out of hospital.

The FatBob was written off so I picked up a new project a while ago. I’ve wanted to do a Mexican style softail for years so I picked up this light/dark root beer brown 2011 Deluxe and have been chipping away at a few things while I recover from thoracic surgery.

So far I’ve done the following:
    - Stripped off reflectors, pillion setup and saddle bags
    - Visor style trim rings for all lights and turn signals
    - Installed the Quick shifter (From the Fat Bob)
    - Installed an Arlen Ness Big Sucker (From the Fat Bob)
    - Installed a V&H Fuelpak
    - Installed Mustang wide tripped in distressed brown diamond stitch
    - Installed billed extended heal/tow shifter
    And much more

I also have several more key parts in transit from the states
    - Ness floor boards
    - 16” Apes
    - 36” fishtails
    - shotgun Shock

Which should keep me busy while my body heals.

Great to see this ‘happy’ thread.
Lots of renewed rides ready for Spring.

My lil’ 883 is now a Hammer 1250. Almost ready to wake the neighbours...

have just finished working on my FatBob that was changed to look like a StreetBob & now going back again
    Forward controls
    black apes
Ceramic coat sliders, new Fork seals, Patriot Genisis springs & Speed Merchant pre load adjusters
    Fatbob headlight ceramic coated black
new frenched tail light & combined indicators with brake & tail functions
2inch Tank LiftRelocated coil & horn
    repaint front & rear guards
    26inch sissy bar
    sporty type rack
    breather bolts
    load equaliser
    FatBob shocks

Now off the bike lift , Commando went on for a while to sort a leak & now my T140E is on it, top end rebuild, rewire, relace the rear wheel to get the correct offset, front end rebuild

I bought the lift 6 months ago, fucking sensational is the only way to describe it, the lift arms are fully adjustable & about 10 minutes to set it up to suit the FB, My Shovel FLH , Commando or Bonnie, was $1000 but money well spent. drive it up & down with a battery drill

    Looks great Tussuck.
I’m liking that old school air cleaner a lot.

I decided to keep my Sporty air cleaner looking stock but wanted to stop the oily air too.
So I modified my K&N Hi-Flow filter as pictured. As you can see I stopped off the tubes, with rubber (fixed with screws). The two hoses once fitted can meet inside the stock assembly in a slim drip tray I’m still making.

    Thanks Tussuck.
I haven’t seen anyone else do it.
    That’s why I thought I’d share it.

I read up heaps about the HD development of the crankcase breathing system.
What’s critical is the amount of flow. Thus  the ‘04-up had a specific-sized hole in the breather bolts.

The benefit (for me) with my system is that it’s completely hidden and the cleaned air coming out of my special oil catch tray is drawn in through the air filter.

Hopefully I specc’d it right that the catch tray only needs emptying at my regular 4 or 5000 klm intervals. But I guess that depends on how hard I crank this thing now it’s a 1250..!

Yeah... I noted that the hole through the bolt on the 883 was bloody small so even 4mm hose for me was a good match.  I wanted black but was too impatient to wait so will see how this setup goes and then maybe update the colour one day.

Hey HOG63 , I can't see your pic of the air cleaner & catch tray?
I don't think if everything ( piston seal & so on ) is in order, they don't spit much out, especially when you ride them a lot. but catch can always a good idea, as don't want to be dropping oil.
Just saw you went from 883 to 1250, what heads are you using?

I hope not. I got one of those for my Mini years ago. Had about 5mm of oiled foam that you could see through. Let dust in around the edges. Sounded awesome but I wouldn't put one one an engine I cared about.

Its about 15-20mm of oiled foam.  I had some old indie tell me they are crap and destroy engines.
Given I have 120,000km on the engine and about 100,000 on the filter i call bullchit on the claim.  As with EVERYTHING Harley its all about regular maintenance.  I clean and re-oil the filter every 2,500km and do engine/filter every 5,000km religiously.

So it bollocks that they bugger a motor...

Where did you get it from?

Came from the UK, he did a deal with the freight, they used to have an Australian agent but no longer I believe
See link, I cannot speak more highly of it , it gets the bike up about 800mm off the floor, sensationally good design & so easy to use

Stock heads and valves and W cams are good enough with the Hammer kit.
Not intending to hit the Drag strip though...
