Really? Didnt see Manly force any executive team or even players to quit for their religious beliefs.

You must have been dropped on your head when you were a baby, multiple times.
At Essendon, the newly appointed CEO was in the job for less than a day , in the off season, before his incompatible relgious views became widely known and he was told he would have to choose between the job at the church and the job at the club.
Manly were approaching finals and needed a win. The club executive decided to put the team in gay pride jumpers without any consultation with the players. Seven of the Islanders stood out and the club lost a winnable game. Des and DCE spent time in the media trying to downplay the consequences but they could not sell it. Now Des is talking about sueing the club because they sabotaged his season .
    A major debacle !

    I love the HDFers

When debating an issue, rather than making a cogent reply to the argument, a spurious personal insult is the default for gravitas.

The cogent reply followed the insult, which is borne out of frustration.

If I'm looking for meaningful commentary on a topic I look a bit further than the conservative bullshit from SkyNews which seems to be your 'go to' source.
I'm not a Dan Andrews fan, but he has been preferred by a majority of Victorians for eight years but SkyNews have never had anything positive to say about him.

    So where do you look?

In my opinion Daniel Andrews is a giant turd. Sky after dark (when I occasionally see it) commentators show his hypocrisy where others don't. And despite claims they're right wing, they will give credit to the ALP when it's due and whack the LNP from what I've seen.

Andrews will likely get voted in again in a heartbeat though, it just won't be by all the Victorians who keep moving up here.

I haven't watched a lot of SkyNews but Wikipedia doesn't share your opinion.

"As many of the channel's primetime contributors are conservatives - many with clear career links to the Liberal Party - the Australian Labor Party and its figureheads Victorian premier Daniel Andrews, Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and Western Australian premier Mark McGowan are frequently critiqued whilst the policies of the Liberal and National parties of Australia are often endorsed and promoted."

I'll trust my own eyes and ears over a web encyclopedia edited by the public, it's not remotely credible.

Sky night time people are definitely more conservative leaning than the ABC or commercial channels which to be fair is no big achievement (just having some common sense makes you a right wing nut job these days). But when I've watched them and it isn't too often, they definitely call out bullshit on both sides. The bias against the conservative side of politics on the mainstream channels is pretty obvious so anybody who thinks that they're any better is having a lend of themselves.

Barry Cassidy, the trusted former ABC doyen used to work for the ALP and current political journalists have ties to parties and/or socialise with pollies at various functions so very few, if any of them can be trusted as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway, we're way off topic for an AFL discussion, I'll bug out. And where's Steelo gone? He's been MIA (at least publicly) for a while now, I hope he's ok.

I put a couple of other references up as well as the wikipedia reference and the sentiments were the same. Did you check them?
I'll post a pic from one of the references that sets it out pretty well.

The main commercial media outlets are owned by big business and it is obviously in their interests to support political views and government which is more aligned with their interests. That is common sense. That is why there is a right bias in main commercial media.
Murdoch related media interests are more right biased and push a right / far right agenda. That is almost universally recognised and the internet is littered with references to it. SkyNews and SkyNews Opinion have as their support base the right, far right and conspiracy theorists and that is where their content is directed.

Dan Andrews is a target for the right wing media and in particular the Murdoch-owned/part owned groups.
The discussion in the media, and similarly on this site , has nothing to do with the Essendon Football Club, it is a witch hunt orchestrated by people who know nothing about football, and have an axe to grind about Dan Andrews.

I am not a Dan Andrews supporter but I believe he made the right call in this instance.
Our sport is better off without extremists, at both ends of the spectrum.
