ok so solar installed .. the readout on my inverter panel is saying around 5040 odd and a good sunny day .. is that the equivelent to around 5kw ?

if so then im not getting the 6.6 that im meant to be getting .. or is that reading something different.. anybody ?

What inverter did you go with? Growatt have a multi switch that allows you to toggle between various functions. 5040 is the watts the system has on that day.

inverter is the fronius symo  .. so is the 5000 odd equivelent to 5 kw ? .. or in other words if my system is a 6.6 kw should i be getting a higher reading, i understant im probably not going to get the full 6.6 kw based on weather conditions and other variables etc .. but should i be getting a higher figure than that on the fronius readout display ?

Cool. You need to go to your display on the inverter and follow the video. Scroll thru till you get to the daily kw , dont worry about the other stuff for the moment. Maybe your phone app allows you to see the current kw as well as historical data, mine does. Watch the vid first

    So any success Wello?

i emailed the installer today about it .. this was his response.
Sure, no problem. your system size is 6.65kw with a 5kw inverter as this is the largest size to be eligible for the renewable energy buy back scheme, if your inverter is hitting 5000w then that's at its maximum and that's a good thing, my concern at your property is that your grid voltage is high and if it reaches 255v then it may operate the Voltage dependant power reduction software built in to the inverter which will in turn reduce the maximum output.

So guessing your installer never gave you a run down on anything...how it wks , functions etc?

haha .. nope but that was more my fault as i had to leave before he was finished so the wife was there for that but he may as well had been talking to a brick wall lol
i guess what i dont really understand is .. the inverter is a 5 kw .. but he is saying its a 6.65 kw system .. so where does the extra 1.65 kw come into it ?

Wello my system is 13,3kw. It uses 2x 5kw inverters to produce 10kw of power combined per hr from those panels. I am told they overpanel (1.65kw) to allow for efficiency loss as well as placement on your roof. The max your system will produce is 5kw under perfect conditions. FYI just got my first bill today....$127 credit and the system was operational two weeks late into the bill cycle.

About to pull the solar pin, can I ask:
The solar company Im about to sign with is telling me I will save $100.00 per Kw on my system

Question: Are you guys saving $100.00 per Kw ?

I have no idea. What I do know is, during the Melbourne summer it is over generating,  you can have a garage air-con for your bike without touching the grid during the day.
But at the winter, it won't cover your heater usage though.

Sorry was out on the bike in the morning and decided that 27 degrees warrants the ski to hit the river for a few hrs in the arvo. Just sitting down to have a beer. Hows your day been....
