They may not be huge in numbers pb but those k’s are brutal in their toll on the mind, body and machine. In some stretches, metres of road works on our maintained highways before we get onto country roads, shadows from trees across the road, curves, no passing areas, give way signs, roundabouts to negotiate and speed limits down to 100km/hr!

Yes, a tourer does help, big engine, cruise control, highway pegs; backrest, heated grips, stereo / comms and a big tank. I know I can get there, have a well deserved rest, cuppa and sticky bun at the bakery and get home again without running out of fuel.
Ask wade, he can back me up. He’s done the trip on his ultra but has had to buy a pan am to do the trip as he’s a lot older than me and a big bike is getting harder to keep upright.

    Steelo,

I am just like you only younger, smarter and better looking.

The real reason for getting the PA was to get to those outback bakeries that you cannot get to on the Ultra.

Ah Steelo your words are so inspirational and so elegantly portray the grit and determination required to get to the bakery. You have inspired me to try these longer trips now......well done to you!

pb those are some extremely eloquent words, enabling you to capture the exact moment that steelo rocks into the bakery, probably followed by acdc playing 'Highway to hell', no,  not appropriate, perhaps 'Its a long way to the shop if you want a 'sticky bun' '?.

Berilliant. Loved it.. Good on you Danny.
Did anyone else get mesmerized with the water bottles jiggling behind the fairing. Did it remind you of V?

Tell ya what, this episode has as much drama and suspense as MAFS 2022. Can't wait for the next one.

Yeah, kept on waiting for the storm of the century.  800 or so kms later and still nothing lol.
Miss Gucci girl has certainly mellowed him somewhat,  gotta love her bullshit filter.

At 11 minutes he gives a sermon about not looking like a "fucking idiot" as he judges those who ride in leathers in the heat. It has the same relevance as someone commenting on what happens if a roo or other hidden critter jumps out in your path and you and Gucci go sliding down the highway in shorts. Perforated leathers give the best of both worlds even if they may not pass the Danny Hayes aesthetics test. Ultimately, wear what you want for your reasons- end of story.

The final episode. Excellent. Really enjoyable. Gone is the bluster and bullshit. Parry lost weight and his independence. Danny finds god. Another HD dealer comes to the fore to help out. V looks good in a pair of denim shorts
