Is canned power on tap.. Weapon, will photo soon when time allows.. Makes my 96 Belgarda seem like a Fred Flinstone runnabout.

The 450's have some serious grunt. My RM was worked and set up as a Supermotard when I got it. On soft Shinkos it was an absolute weapon on tar. Now Ive set it up for dirt with knobbies it's acres of fun and pretty friggin wild!

Mate, in the olden days, re my era, my RT1 Yamaha 360 was my choice weapon in the dirt. Had the XL250 Honda Motosport when they came out, new for $674.00 In house diuscount. The Suzuki dirties were 250 the went the 400 red and whites, and the 400 was a long bike remember, wheelstanding ya had to wait a minute for the front wheel to get back to the ground it was long. Seriously there are some serious dirt bikes out there now. These 450s, be it Yam Honda or Suzuki, even the chinese are in there, etc, are bloody quick, and maybe I'm just getting old

PB had two of those DT400's.The first one, in err. 77,bought in Qld Townville.Road it around Finch Hatton, was good fun, to keep my hand in dirty stuff. They were good fun, compared to the RT1360 they were bit more civilised. Sure you woulda heard of the guys breaking their feet area kicking over a large single 2 and 4 strokers .They were the limping cool surf crew, as was I maybe not that cool, cause didn't wear thongs on them, mostly..

    Nice Bonnie JR - tidy!
Good you've got a later year model with the both front & rear disc brakes, I think around 1975 they upgraded the rear from the drum?

Don't say that about Triumphs, these 2 are classic looking bikes.
BTW what  do you ride?... other than a wave of scoffing superficiality.

    Listen up number 260.
This is a Harley Davidson forum.
Don't go posting pictures of ugly German bikes and expect it to end well.
And I don't know what a wave of scoffing superficiality is.
Is that another ugly European model?

'scoffing superficiality' is something the bmw riders on this forum have in common
certainly does not apply to you beagle, your scoffing is not superficial.

Ok guys not sure if I can post this reply because it's not my bike I will remove it if asked. This is a mates bike that I find very interesting it's the new BMW R18. He bought it from Morgan And Wacker in Brisbane before he picked it up he added a spectacular custom paint job, mag wheels and some other accessories. To say the motor on this bike is huge would be a understatement lol. My mate has ridden Harley's all his life even rode as a full member with a world wide 1% club when he lived in Europe many years ago and yes he is German. He gave bikes away for a while because of his back issues but couldn't stay away. Anyway he loves this bike finds it more comfortable than his Harley's and is so happy that he can ride again without to much pain and I think that's the main thing for all of us.

    Hey Choco,
BMW has really got it right (again), not only with their Sport & Adventure Bike offerings but also with their latest entry into the cruiser market with the R18.
Agree with you - this engine is purposely made to be the show piece of this awesome machine. Ridden a few boxers over the decades, this one is definitely out-there
Comfort, torque, effortless acceleration - as you say many have come to realise (those without blinkers on) that HD aren't the only viable cool cruisers.
It's fine to post photos of some else's bike here - James said likewise - in a post since deleted   ; )

Be very careful gents you don't get too excited about a BMW...some members may start pathetic attempts to dissuade you. You know the "Its ugly" Fucking shit bikes etc
Just for the record i really enjoy mine.
Haven't ridden the new 1800 yet but have read a few good things.
