Agreed it would be well worth the trip but not for a National run, I think the idea of a national run is more of a run to get
there, then a day or two get together then the run back home. Tassie would need to be a ride in its own right and organised
accordingly and you wouldnt get the riders that cannot commit until the last minute.

    What about Jindabyne?
It's roughly half way between Melbourne and Sydney and it's in the middle of some of the best riding in Australia.
There is a motorbike friendly hotel/motel at East Jindabyne that's got rooms from multi bunk share, through basic twin/double twin rooms to standard motel style rooms.

They have a bar and can put on a dinner (something like a mixed grill or a stone cooked meat, salad and chips) for large groups in the restaurant next to the bar.

There is an outside seating area overlooking the lake if the weather is good.

I've stayed there a couple of times with groups of bikes (the last time with 56 people was only last weekend) and the prices are pretty reasonable too.

During a Snowy Ride we passed through Tumbarumba, stopping at the hotel for a beer and lunch. I presume it was the Union Hotel as I think there is only one in town in the main street.
It would serve our purpose being in the middle of town. There is also a motel nearby.

The location is good and the area has excellent riding roads.
If there are members that know the town then please chime in or if you are close, pop in and have a look.

My vote: Broken Hill or Bathurst. Last weekend of Sept (6 mths) to separate it from Edenhope Fri 29th / Sat 30th? Not sure if that clashes with footy finals etc.

I can never understand how people can use work or finances as an excuse when its organised 12 mths ahead.
Sometimes i think people just dont want to ride and use these things as an excuse.

Just recently I called into the Denman Shell service station which is opposite a hotel.  There were plenty of bikes in the car park but I didn't have time to check it out.
There's some good riding in that area from what I saw, so can anyone shed any light on Denman NSW?
It's not far from Newcastle so the locals may be able to offer information or suggest something similar.

Not that i'm after a bite of this sandwich, but Mudgee NSW is a top spot, large town/small city with lots of good pubs, a brewery and distillery and heaps of motels/caravan parks.

A decent ride up to Alice sounds like it would be a good run. Doing an Alice / Ayers rock is on my bucket list.
Not sure if these dates are too close to others, and am guessing would need to set aside 4 days? (2 to get there, 2 back?)

    A couple public holidays here that might make it easier for those working;
Head there on the Fri, Sept 29 (vic pub holiday)
Go back home on the Mon, Oct 2 (lab day NSW/ACT/SA/QLD)

Also remembering that there are runs organised on either side of this date:
    Lucindale overnighter: 2/3rd sept
    Eden Hope X: Oct 27 - Oct 29

Shame that, as the black fellers have loved this place for years, we have had heaps of people come on planes just to look at it.
Yep its a captured market price list every were you go at the rock, but when you set your eyes on this "wonder of the earth" it dose take your breath away

PS there is a supermarket with good prices in the square in town and a camp ground $38.00 per night not each thats car 5 people
