OK then, let's try this one on for size? Who's game enought to recommend, replacement tyres for my ride. The current set of Dunlop's (from new) have done 15,000 Kms. They will need replacing, very shortly, AKA next dealer service! Does anyone have a better option, either brand or price, (SURELY I JEST, TO SUGGEST, AN OPTION OF LESSER VALUE TO A DEALER DICOUNT PRICE?). I have had a great run out of these tyres, AND WON'T BE SACRIFICING, SAFTEY OVER DOLLARS!  But I would like to keep the "bastards" honest, by checking all the options available to me.

    Keep the doughnuts rolling.

Bugger me RAGLE ya getting 15k outa your tyre, to now I'm lucky to get half that with dunlops. I'm gonna give Metzlers a try next change..........The back roads here in WA are very abrasive......maybe me riding style has something to do with it as well

I'm not sure theres any other tyre out there that will better those numbers.......

Ragle, I have got similar out of my second rear Dunlop. Pretty happy with the handling of it too.

As Jordan has said though, the metzlers are pretty good. Follow a bike with them in the wet and you will see what i mean from the rooster tail. They really clear the water.....

    cheers

I got 16,000 k out of the original Dunlop on the Fatbob, put a Metzler ME880 on it and only got 8,000 k, now back to a original dunlop and it's handles a lot better.

    My 00.02 worth.

in my opinion and it is just mine i have tried metzler avons and dunlops and found the dunlops to be the best for grip and price i havent had any problems with dunlops letting go in wet or on corners as i have found with the avons and metzlers just didnt last long enough for the price but were good over all

the dunlops r having a delaminating problem at the moment, it begins as a small line across the tyre then gradually gets deeper. anyone running oem dunlops should have a look for this.
