oil lines

    the oil line that connects the heads together, one has a small hole and the other is open, why would they restrickt the flow on the incoming end?

    Hi Seaeagle,
    Don't quite picture what you mean, so I'll divert but on the same subject.
    The line from the case to the rear rocker cover supplies oil to the rockers on the rear head, and then the oil is fed to the front head by the joining line between the rocker covers. This has one inherent problem, by the time the front exhaust rocker gets any oil it has: 1- been a while and 2- the oil is pretty hot.
    Early on I did one of my tinkerings, and got a mate to braze a T line together using the joining line and a stainless braided oil line with a fitting on the case end that used the stock Harley seals. This set up fed both rocker covers at the same time and looked neater than the stock one (It came between the cylinders and behind th carby.)
    Never had a problem with it or with oil return.

    sorry for the slow repley cris,
    so the better the flow the better it should be, its got braided lines and one end has a smaller hole for the oil to flow through, when you look at the direction it should flow, its at the inwards side, ill try get a photo if that will help.
