I have been researching the SE 103 kit for my new Electra instead of fitting cams and new pushrods etc.
There has been some chatter on another forum about the need for compression release to start the motor, particularly when hot.
Has any one here had/have experience of this?
Any comments welcome.
I have the 103 kit with 30 thou cometic head gaskets. I did have hard starting with the tmax but rarely have any issues with the TTS.
I believe its down to the cranking spark advance but will defer to scotty / stix when they read this.
That said I don't have stock cams either which effects the cranking pressure.
I did the whole lot at once PIB and assume at least some of the work would be duplicated.
Have you asked SWHD how much the 103 with SE255 kit kitted is just as a reference point?
cheers Surly
I like yr style PIB, straight out to the 103 no muckin around
Bugger me Piggy, ya going into competition with Stix mate and here I thought you wanted to do some leasurely cruising.............
