My electrical diag manual hasnt arived yet, but l cant wait , still sniffin about the bike , gotta find the problem eventually,
dont l ?
from memory the iac moves out / in ( if you look up at it ,,viewing the inside the inlet manifold) upon turning the ignition on?
or is it turning it off ?
mine moves out then in once, , when l turn the ignition off, Does this sound correct ???
iac module with pen point on scatch, its that fine, hard to make out , can feel it with finger nail, just....
Scotty...l dried the manifold first as there was a bit of fuel at the rear,
full throttle with throttle stop to hold it there in position,
turned on for 15 seconds, then off
6 times , watching with pen light , No, manifold is dry....
stix68.. Ecm is std. was removed with 5,000km. & is as new, replaced with T/Max.
ive put the std stuff back on the bike to check out the problem with running..(in case it was tmax issue)
l wont purchase a IAC just yet as this one shows that its operating correctly,
when the diag manual arrives ill go throygh the trouble shoot with my symtems (& find my dictionary)
if the bike is still playing up then !!! & l havnt been able to find out whot it is!!!
Go to plan "B"
plan "B" ......Re-install T/Max , stage 1 air./cl,,& straight shots,
take 1 computer from house ,set up in shed, purchase 15mt of telephone cable , run from house to shed
make sure the dog doesnt chew the cable up this time, lock him up,
ill run the bike , looking at the AFR readings.. cause l think its a air/fuel problem
im not really sure about computer based bikes, if l find somethiong "funny"
should l change the reading? or would that just be masking what could be the issue on the bike??
ill probably change the reading,, & when l get in to trouble & f**k things up
ill ask on the forum.. always a wealth of help,
Wot else can l do???????
its there !!!!somewhere!!!
Hey Ho Wozza.. l heard you were looking for a real good EFI system, cause youv'e had enough of that old carb your running, l know were you can get a realy goopd set up , change over for your old antiquated set up your running, complete hardly used!! wont cost you much about a G....
sophtayl, 2006 dyna strretbob(aust.model) didnt have 02.s fitted, had the bungs in the header pipes to take them, capped off with a bolt,
an electrical spike could possably have happened , a few days before the problem appeared, but there were no fuses blown or any thing to suggest it, the bike did get wet, real wet,! ! but after it was dried out, ran like a malley bull for days until this..
but ive also swaped back to origonal ecm & other std, parts that were on the bike from new,
so if the spike you mention affects the(unit) ecm,? then it wont be it ..
l will check range of readings, its got to be done, surely !! somethings got to turn up there!!
Scotty, throttle blade (shaft with butterfly?) all good, no appreciable play or damage,
Hilly13, after pulling the plug on the temp sender yesterday , thought it might not give a good reading , even if it was faulty its probably better to have it pluged in so's ecm can read it,& not just have the wires just hanging there,
So l got my hands on a new sender, ,they all must be the same?, part number 32446-99 but.. on the brass unit it self it has the number 3257.. on my existing brass unit it has 0536. l dont know wot that stands for..
l hooked it up anyway , it has made no differance to the running of bike, l guess l can count the sender out as the culprit..
Scotty, l did chase the wiring from the temp sender to the ecm & fuse box, all good ,unwrapped the tar type tape
at the "Y" join , everything looks as new, no sign of problems in any of the wiring through out the whole bike...
stix 68,, thanks for the offer on those injectors anyways mate,,
wozza ..still riding around in my dreams..hav'n some realy bizzaro ones... l might dust off the rat as well soon, only got to check the points, plugs, leads, real easy !!!
PKM... No error codes showing,
only errors show when l run the bike with something unpluged, ...sure you'd think an error code would show up if there was an issuie with the EFI. or other faulty componant else where on the bike..
But all l can tell you is there is a fault some where.. and l havn't find it yet.....
thanks to the HDF members who have given their invaluable .advise, l know its near imposable to diagnose over the net, but its all been a big help,.. what better way to know your bike than to pull it apart..get ya head into all those places you dont normally...its my first electronic bike, so this has put me off a bit, the older less advanced carbed, points, etc. bikes have got a lot going for them, l dont care wot anybody sais......However l wont be going back now,, keep moving forward!!!
