I have just brought a set of chrome switch covers on ebay which is suppose to cover 99-08 model bikes which I plan to put on my 07 Dyna superglide.

Now the seller has emailed me wanting to know if it is fitted with a clutch switch, do I have to hold in the clutch lever wwhen starting?

When I brought the bike new, I was told by the dealer that I had to hold in the lever to start, but I found out that I don't, and haven't since I brought the bike.

Is there any diffefrent about the switch covers for levers with and without the switch.

Just been down the shed and double checked, it does have a switch.

The seller is sending the right one to suit, nice of him to take the time to point out this fact even if the 07 harley acc cat still has one type fits all for the switch covers, how many more will get caught out by this change.

I have an 07 Softail with the Clutch switch.

I bought set of Chrome controls from ebay with no hole for clutch switch.

I fitted them the otherday, I just drilled a hole for the switch and it all worked ok.

Other problem is the Clutch lever has a little spur so it will operate the switch where the Chome items with the kit don't have.

I am going to get my OEM levers chromed when I chromr my forks but at present if you are in gear U need to put in neutral to start otherwise nothing there.

    Only a minor thing.

The Set I got off e-bay is as good as the HD ones but have added benifit of no screw on top as both screws are through bottom. Much cleaner on top to look at.

I also changed the switch caps. Which really set off the chrome kit. Bit fiddly to do but not hard and you have to pull the harness out of the housing to change anyway.

well the covers that are coming are the right ones for 07 with the switch, but now I have a chrome lever kit coming too that don't have the switch.

I will have to wait till it all turns up and see how it fits. The lever kit have a chrome cover to slip over the brake cylinder so that you don't have disconnect it , it completely hides it

I have to wait and see

    Hi Peter / black29d

You mentioned the chrome master cylinder cover/lever bracket - how does it look?  Does it cover all parts of the orig black lever mount? Look OK?

    cheers

    Hi sime69

The cover looks ok and is easy to install, it comes with four screw, two are chromed and two are specials that have double ended ( the chrome screws, screw into the top ) these specials replace the standard screws that hold the top of the master cylinder on, and the cover is secured to the new specials, the only other thing is you have to undo the mirror to put on the cover or to remove it.

I have included two photos , front & back, but note my bike needs a clean and the chrome polished.

it is a quick dress up for stock master cylinder
