howdy, mechanical stuff no probs but electrical i'm not so good at
I bought some new front indicators which only have a power wire no earth wire. they will be mounted directly to the switch/front lever housings ( similar to factory),
do i need to have the origonal earth wire that went to the factory signals terminated to something metal or can I just tape them up and not worry about them?
any help appreciated...
The single wire is positive, the indicator must be mounted where it can get a good earth. IE, if you had rubber mounted bars, you may not get a negative earth to the indicator you are trying to use
ok . try this bang your bars and switch gear on grab a test light hook it up to the positive on the battery poke it on the spot where you whant to mount your indicators and if it lights up your good to go! if not, run an electrical eyelet between the bolt and washer that mount your bars on the underside of your clamps and a single wire to a mount bolt eg: headlight.. it always has a good source of earth, if you want it more professional, open the head light, there is usually a bolt or some aftermarket headlights have a single solderd earth wire conected to the bucket, tapp in to that and your set!
