Any one belong or have been a member?.............I'm sure I can count on a few opinions.

My observations is that they tuck their jeans in their riding boots.........is that gay?

Yeah I am a memeber, one of the largest motorcycle clubs around with in excess of 26,000 active members.

    See link  http://www.ulyssesclub.org

I'll let your smartass comment about gays go except to say like any large organisation in the modern world it probably does have it's fair share of gays.

have a m8 in Qld who is a member & he enjoys the camaraderie, plus a couple of workmates are in it, seems about the same as the Harmless Old Guy's .....2 of them got a bit paranoid after the run in with the 1% er's who took offense to the back patch & rockers. They wouldn't wear their jackets for months.....

Some good replies thanks fellas, as usual.......Yes I was asked to join a couple of times. I'm not really into group organised rides and being a shift worker I'm usually out of kilter with anything of a regular basis, eg Sunday's latte ride. The advantage is I can ride when I'm off work and that could be any day of the week and is better during the week when there are less idjits on the roads. So I'm usually a lone rider..........

I heard in the Ulysses club you dont get to wear long pants until your'e over 50. (Then you tuck them in ya boots!). My mates mum is a member and rides all over Oz. As fo me I'd only be allowed to wear short pants still.

Now now lads and ladettes. Let me quickly clear up a few points about the old farts club, Ulysses. I have been a member for over 6 years. Point 1 The people hassled by the outlaw mob for the wearing of rockers on the jackets, SHOULD HAVE BEEN. They are stricktly not allowed in any shape or form, it is an article in the clubs constitution. Point 2. The club is good for the more elderly riders in the world, and SHIFT workers because they not only have organised rides on the weekend but also mid week riders. So if you have to ride through the week, at least you are not alone. Point 3 Yes very much a BMW ( Bavarian Money Waster ) club, due mainly to some well healed old blokes with nothing left to do but ride their bikes. Point 4 Rules, really there are very few, the only one they are hard on is anyone trying to imitate outlaw bikers with rockers and such. This because it is not a motorcycle club. It is a social club only. Point 5 Big advantage of being a member is cheap insurance on ya ride ( silly buggers think I have grown up by now and not such a rat bag on my bike), full breakdown service, if my bike stops some one comes and gets me with the breakdown trailer, and thats anywhere in OZ! but if you are over 40 there are worse clubs to join. oh yes another thing it is known for is getting older singles together. nothing turns an old widow on like 62 year old on a hog. If you do join though just be aware there are certain branches that do not like Harleys at all. But we ride with em any way just to give em the shits.

A very close friend of mine is a member of Ulysees. He says that they have a starting point and a finishing point and you go as slow, medium or fast to the end destination.

No probs there but personally, I can't see the point being in a club if that's the way they ride. Might as well ride alone.

I'm a HOG member and like the lack of rules. Well, OK, only one, we ride in a staggered formation. Sadly, it is common to see riders who don't understand what staggered means. Doesn't matter a stuff!

Max speed is usually within 10 to 40km of the speed limit ( in overtaking lanes)

There are "Road Captains" (ride leaders) whose riding speed I don't like as much as others. I have met some excellent people of all ages through HOG in the last 6 years. I have no problem with Ulysees and may join some time. I also like to ride alone and often with a few of close mates. I'm also looking forward to my first HDF ride when I get my wings back!!

If you don't like it.... leave it be........ no need to criticise.....

We're all bike-riders and can't be all that bad!!!

    stay upright!

You blokes need to get a life...............

They get out every weekend, Ride with there mate , Enjoy each others company & They have road rules so everyone gets there safe.

They are prob the only one's that say G'DAY , Cos some HD Riders think there shit don't stink.

So 4 Fuck Sake Leave em ALONE
