Just stick the new map in and try it Hilly, Cant do any harm and might even be better

You can always whack the old one back in just make sure you save it first

As for being duped I aint no expert but it would appear so from your description

when you had the bike dyno'd... did they just do a run to check hp (usually $100), or did they do a tune (usually $300 plus)?

if he actually mapped the PCIII then there should be a huge difference in the table......... when I had mine done they started from scratch. Can email a copy if you want.
