hey guys, got my vrod dynoed other week after installing power commander and it has samson rip saws and k&n filter and they could only get 96 horsepower at the back wheel , was told another customer has same mods but with a 2 into 1 supertrapp exhaust and made 109 horsepower at wheel, thats a big difference so im looking for opinions on the best exhaust?

    cheers Mick

Two mates have Vance and Hines Outlaw's.

The SE made over 120 RWHP when tuned .

Back to the subject, i think i might go with the rinehart 2 into 1, theres a couple of vids on youtube, they seem to sound good and nowhere near as loud as the samsons, others might be able to ride beside me then;)

Most manufacturers state flywheel HP not rear wheel HP.

The losses through the driveline can be substantial !

Harley advertises the 1250cc vrod as having 125 horsepower, mine didnt even make 100 at the wheel with the exhaust, filter and power commander, thats a pretty big loss through the drivetrain, would be interesting to dyno just the engine

    Just for your info;

Horse Power (hp) is measured at the crankshaft.

Brake Horse Power (bhp) is measured at the rear wheel.

Most manufacturers state hp as it is a higher number for sales reasons.

Well i don't own a V-Rod but the newer one's seem to be slower as they come than the older smaller engined silver one's, i'm just going off what times and speeds they do at drags, but put falicon crank high comp pistons cam set and destroyer injectors they fly.

we have a few at the track with the supertrapp 2 into 1 and anothyer bike with supertrapp slip ons stock pipe, and they all run well depends on who is doing the tuning. , i've seen some stock v -rods with stock pipe just SE slip ons and SE air filter making 113hp rear wheel

One has an '08 with "V-Modded" stock mufflers and a Power Commander PC 3, all dyno tuned up the wazoo on Frasers Dyno, 118 Rear wheel HP.

The guys at Frasers would not dyno my08 nightrod special because in their words "it is just a standard bike with Supertrapp exhaust, S/E racer tuner, K&N filter, 28T pulley".

Why did they do your mates????

Well I wont be goin back..

Now I am looking for someone to Dyno it for me now, has anyone got any idea where to go????

    Thanks

How difficult to make your own pipes? What's involved in the mufflers for these bikes?
I built a twin 3" stainless system for my Chevy Suburban....and have also been wondering what to do with my 09 Muscle when I get it.
Saw/heard one the other day with the VH pipes same as in that pic. Sounded nice and looked good....but I like to build all of my own stuff.
I'm thinking something like the Big Rig pipes in stainless....and maybe black ceramic coated?

Yeah Awesome pipe's they look LOUD !!!
Had my 2011 Night rod Dyno at Doctor Mak, at Maitland top guy did a nice job, fitted power commander, filter and Tab slip on's no baffels and made 121 rwhp. Sounds heaps better and go's smoother and faster, made big difference to mine....
