Hey all, further to this........ http://www.hdforums.com.au/Default.aspx?tabid=71&forumid=2&postid=93197&view=topic

I cannot get the SERT to talk to my computers.

If the SERT has been plugged into another bike, will I get a message telling me that? or does it just play dead?

If I can ascertain that it has been used then I can dispute the transaction, as the seller assured me it was a virgin.

I have tried the serial port in my pc and also a usb/serial adapter with my laptop with the same result.

This is driving me nuts as I have a filter and bits to go on but can't do anything if I can't change the fueling.

    I am 2 hours from a dealer.

    Thanks for any advice.

OK, you can disregard all of the above, I now have communication between bike and puter, let the fun begin.

Not sure what the problem was.

While I'm at it, I was going to try this map as a starting point......159AE004-A1.

This is an 07 streetbob with S&S shortys and big sucker?

We asume you have loaded the softwear and instruction manual and had a play around the softwear.

When I got mine the head mechanic opened the box, removed the plugin from its SEALED plactic pack and took it out to workshop and installed a basic map then put it back in the box, wrote my name on the box and handed it to me. I have pluged in into my bike a few times since and it only fails if I dont connect all the cables before turning on the laptop or turn on the ignition with out tuning mode open on the screen.
It will tell you if its not connected (COMM PORT ERROR) when you click 'get ecm info'. Remember to turn on the ignition and count to ten slowly before clicking.
