    Hi

I'm about to do my first service on my 04 1200 Sport

    K&N air filter

    K&N oil filter

    Motul Twin Syn 20/50 oil

Can you tell me, is it ok to use non-Harley spark plugs (NGK DCPR7E)?

Also, any traps I should look out for?

    cheers, al

    Found this info

It doesn't actually state for the Sport model. But I'll give it a go.

How many k's on the bike?

Depending on the k's will change what you'll have to do.

Yes you can use non Harley plugs in your bike.

    Thanks for your reply.
    Bike's done nearly 33k
I don't know it's history. It had just over 32K when I bought it
I haven't ridden it much since buying it. I'm used to riding a LOW trumpy chopper.
Can't get used to sitt'n so high. Don't like it
The idea is to put it into a rigid when I can afford it

    cheers, al

Get yourself a service manual. It has all the good stuff in it you require.

If you are going to alot of stuff yourself, get the electrical and parts manual as well.

Best out lay I have made for my scoot.

    Got it done.

Put in 2.65 litres (Sportster and Buell forum) and still got a little coming out the breathers in the air cleaner.

Had a few issues with the new air cleaner. First one didn't fit. Once I removed the plastic ring screwed into

the carburretor on the air filter backing plate, I was able to fit a K&N filter.

Might be my imagination. But it seemed a little more responsive with the new air filter.

I've got a manual and "fix my hog DVD"

Now that I've found my teflon tape, I'll change the primary oil over the next few days.

Got to get a feeler gauge I can read before I can change the plugs.

    cheers, al
