Registering an interstate bike in SA

Ok as most people know I'm getting delivery of the Street Bob any day now and since I bought the bike from QLD I need to get it registered in SA.  To get it registered here you need to take it down to Regency and get an identification inspection done.  All sound pretty straight forward right?

What concerns me though is that they'll take one look at the Big Radius pipes and defect the bike.  I've got the stock pipes sitting in the garage at home so I could chuck those on before I take it down there.  Although since I'm pretty lazy I was thinking if I could avoid having to put the stock pipes on just to take them off when I get home.

Has anyone in SA taken a bike down there for the ID inspection, can you get away with having pipes etc. on there which are potential defects?

I'm trying to think of a way I can get it down there without starting it, ie trailer etc, although seems like a bit of messing around doing that.

    Your thoughts would be good.

I did a bike a few years ago

Basically it is just an ID check, I took the bike down on the trailer and they just checked the numbers and didn't even start it

I would throw it on a trailer and "forget" to take the ignition key , (But they may be smarter than that)

    Purnong,

Might be the way to go, would be easier loading it on a trailer rather than taking the pipes off and on twice.

Yeah, good to know Bob.  So are you saying that you took yours straight to the motor reg to the ID done without going to Regency first?

Myselft and Loftybob went down to the Inspection centre today and got the bike registered. They didn't give me any grief about the pipes, I rode it in there so they had a chance to do the pipes if they were going to but luckily I got through. Went and got it registered, paid my $1,000 donation to the gubment and on my way.
