Is it possible to add docking harware to the struts of the FXD/FXDC/FXDL/Streetbob variants without having to completely relocate the rear indicators ?

I know a guy who has a Softail where the the rear indicator "wing type" stalks have been removed and replaced with a more basic stalk which includes the docking point.

Could the same thing be done with the FXD ?

I think moving the indicators is done in order to fit things like saddle bags, not so much for the docking hardware.

Yes, the docking hardwear just replaces the two bolts on either side of your rear fender struts.

Below is how I did it on my 08 FXDC, Sorry for the crappy phone pics

If I remember correctly I had to buy the indicator relocation kit which is basically longer bolts that remove the wing type mount and replace with those below

It was a pain in the arse working out what I needed because the harley site was no help

I use the detachable sissy bar

I can dig up the part numbers you need if you like

For what it's worth, here is my 2 bob.
I got an FXDL, and i got the detachable sissy bar, and like the above pictures show, the indicators are on the end of the cam bolts.
This is an easy conversion to do.
However, I have now installed ghost brackets with bags of course, and had to move the indicators elswhere.
They are now located either side of the rego plate, with a couple of brackets I manufactureed myself.
I had to cut the indicator wires , and resolder them after mounting the indicators.

    Oink Oink...
