I HAVE A PAINT CHIP ON MY TANK. ITS ABOUT 4 OR 5 MM ROUNDISH. IVE HAD THE COLOUR MATCHED AND HAVE GOT SOME GOOD LITTLE BRUSHES AS WELL. THE UNDERCOAT STILL LOOKS GOOD.

THE PAINT WORK AROUND THE HOLE ISN'T LOOSE OR CRACKED, THIKING I MIGHT WAIT FOR THE SUN OUT TOMORROW SO ITS A BIT WARMER THEN BACK INTO THE GARAGE FOR A TOUGH UP -  AND TAKE IT REAL EASY, ANY SPRAY PAINTERS OUT THERE!!!!!!!!!!

THE ROAD SWEEPER HAD 2 STONE CHIPS 1 IN THE TANK AND 1 IN THE FRONT GUARD DID THE TOUCH UP THING
BUT YOU COULD SEE IT WAS A TOUCH UP JOP
SO I TOOK IT TO THE EXPERTS THAT DO THIS FOR A LIVING COST ME $500 A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO
AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE JOP HE DONE
I HAD TO TAKE ALL PAINTED PARTS IN FRONT AND REAR GAURDS LEFT AND RIGHT TANKS WHEN GOT THEM BACK THEY LOOK LIKE BRAND NEW

Dab your touch up paint on to the chipped area until it is higher than the surrounding paint, use a fine brush or the end of a match to apply the paint. Let the paint dry and wet sand the new paint using a small block until flush with the old paint. Small circles when sanding work best and use 800 wet and dry. Buff with cutting compound and polish and it will be as good as new.

    Mate,
Take it nice and slow when you do it and all will be ok - if you were in WA I would do it for you
