Fat Boy - Pillion Foot Boards

Hi all, I have a bit of a quandry and am wondering whether or not anyone has any ideas?

I am riding an '06 Fat Boy with S&S mufflers (no heat shields - original shileds are too long) on board.

They make the sled sound grouse, however the problem is my wifes RHS boot heel inadvertently touches the muffler melting her heel and marking the muffler!

I was thinking of getting some pillion floor boards (if available) to replace the pegs and was wondering whether any of you Fat Boy owners have done this in the past?

Alternatively does anyone have any other suggestions (the foot peg is located between the upper and lower mufflers)?

Have been looking into this myself.

Can't seem to find genuine Harley pillion boards for a Fatboy.

Spoke to the dealer up here in Darwin and he pulled out after market catalogues and showed me a range of products. Kuryakyn etc.

While you still have the exhaust running past the peg or footboard with no heat shield, I really can't see you solving the problem of burning the girls boot.

I have always wondered what the Harley designers were thinking when the put the pipe on top of the peg

I will solve that problem when I install V&H 2into1 pipes

I have a CVO 2006 Fatboy. It has pillion footboards so they do make them. Only problem is they only fit with the standard HD mufflers fitted. I have now installed V&H pipes and reverted bike to a solo bike. Part no. is 50429-04

Hey thanks WozzA, they might just do the trick and don't look too bad - beats the piece of bent metal that I am currently using!!!

If you take a hacksaw and neatly cut the heals off both boots there should not be anymore problems, and it is a cheap option no need to thank me I am just too happy to help.

Or you could just have her wrap her legs up around you keepin her feet well away from the pipes.  On a side note, Peter the Batman thing is freakin funny
