Value problems at 8000k?

Thought it was a good idea to change my plugs yesterday before it goes for a dynotune today and to my surprise one of the plugs was black and had oil on it (not a good sign). The bike is a 06 with only 8000kms surely this doesn't indicate  worn valve or value seat problem and/or piston rings. Anyway took it to get it dynotune today and shown the plugs to person doing the dyno and worst fears realised he said that there is definitely something wrong and won't know for sure unless he opens her up to have a look ,so the dynotune has been put back . I have left the bike with him and expecting a call from in the next few days, just my luck. Has anyone experience this kind of problem with so little kms would of thought any head work would be up towards the 80-100,000 not 8000ks?

The bike is in good hands but now I am wondering if I have a case with HD if it is a known fault, will they come to the party? I have had things repaired outside warranty before if it is a know fault , hopefully I have a case here. Either way I hope it is not going to be a big hole in the wallet because there is a big list of accessories that I have on my list that is in desperate need of funding.

Yep seal failure and Hd Won't come to the party becuase I haven't been back since first service (No stamp on service book)and it 's also out of warranty. What gets me is I have now read up on the issue and I have read that some have got there seals replaced at their services. With the fault know back in August 05 and I had my bike in for a service in Oct06 you would think they would of had a look at it... Wont be ever going to that dealer again not even for parts!

Rang another dealer to see what is the go..... this time only mention that its just come out of warranty and almost same reply ......because there was no recall on it ,I will have to pay for the repairs.

jber as far as naming the dealer, I don't know what the go is in naming companies on forums because technically he is right, out of warranty equals no warranty repairs. Its would be more of a customer relation thing....if they came good on the repair I would have still used them ,now they lost me as a customer.

no worries. i meant who was the dealer doing your first service. i would hope they would mention it as a known issue and give you the knowledge up front.

i'm not looking to publicly flog the bloke as technically they're not breaking any just maybe could've gone it bit further i thought.
