Hey all, it's been a while. I've been on holidays for the last couple of weeks and since I use a computer every day at work, I decided that I wouldn't so much as turn one on over the hols, looks like I've got a bit of catching up to do about the forums.
But while I didn't get any "surfing" done, I did get plenty of riding in. Spent last week in Marysville at Allawah Cottages (awesome place for a holiday, if a little pricey) with the family. My dad and my brother were both down from Alice with their bikes so we rode the Black Spur, up Lake Mountain, to Hanging Rock, found a few Wineries, did the walk to Stevensons Falls and generaly just spent some time relaxing around.
If you've not done the Spur ride, I highly reccomend it, plenty of opportunities to scrape the footboards on the King. Just make sure you don't end up like the guys in the below article. Happened while I was there, didn't see it, but was still sobering to read in the paper the next day.
Shiney side up guys,
Bear

A MAN is dead and two people are critically injured after motorcycles collided head-on on a notorious, twisting section of road east of Melbourne.
The motorcycles collided on a slight bend on the Black Spur road at Fernshaw, part of Maroondah Hwy between Healesville and Narbethong, about 3pm (AEDT), police said.
A 37-year-old Mooroolbark man died at the scene. His passenger, a 34-year-old Mooroolbark woman, was flown by air ambulance to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The rider of the other motorbike, a man in his 30s from Ivanhoe, was taken to the Maroondah Hospital in a critical condition.
The narrow, winding road passes over the Black Spur, at the top of the Great Dividing Range, through towering mountain ash forest and lush tree ferns in the Yarra Ranges National Park.
The road is popular with motorcyclists but notorious among local emergency services because of a high rate of motorcycle accidents.
Major collisions police are investigating and will prepare a report for the coroner.
The fatality took Victoria's annual road toll to 11, four more than at the same time last year.
Early last year a group of us did the spurs, We had jappers overtaking us in spots you wouldn't even dream of passing people, Dudes came out of the forest (off dirt tracks) and onto the roads, When we were on our return ride we stopped at a local pub and started talking to other HD riders and the stories they were telling us you wouldn't believe them, They make big $ bets to beat each others times................. They make it hard for others that like to go a little harder around the twisties cos the jacks are getting pritty bad.
