All the new bike sales figures are in for 2008.

Interesting that in the Touring class, the Ultra Classic has made a massive improvement in sales over last year (I guess I'm not the only one that gives the new tourers the tick)

And I see Harley sold twice as many Ultra Classics than Honda sold Goldwings

I was at Peter Stevens today for near on 2 hours and I saw 4 bikes being delivered and lot's of people checking out all variety of bikes.

2 of the bikes that went out the door were the Suzuki Cruisers, they seem to be popular for the blokes that want a cruiser but don't or can't fork out the dollars for a Harley. Actually they have a few good discounts at the moment, for the whole range of bikes. "Avoid the price rise" deals.

They still have the 2008 CVO Ultra Classic Electra Glide for sale, $10,000 off the RRP..............they sort of get lumbered with a few 2008 models when the new 2009 comes out, must happen accross all the stores.

I believe we will see a dramatic decline in bike sales due to the boom being busted and the cash drying up, plus the price of fuel dropping.

1000 miners in Queensland alone have lost their job in the last month or so.

The prices of bikes may go up due to the dollar but the 'stealers' will compensate i.e. lower the prices (take a cut in profit) to try to keep sales going.

Could be a lot of 'young' second hand bikes coming on the market soon...... Time will tell
