Buying bikes from interstate

I'm considering buying a bike from interstate and was wondering how others have gone with payments.

I've had a quote from a freight carrier who've given me a reasonable price for door to door delivery so that part is good.

But I'm a bit concerned about how I go paying for the bike considering I won't be there to pick it up.

    What have others done?

Got a Dealer to manage the purchase of my Dyna (Bike Inspection, Rego & Prep for Freight) cost $450.00 - I paid the dealer - he paid the owner, worth it for the piece of mind......

Bike arrived arrived clean & ready to ride (after they took the shrink wrap off) everything worked and Bike was as promised....'Shit Hot'

    Cheers

my first bike i bought sight unseen , other than pictures , from a guy in Melbourne, after numerous conversations on the phone got to the point where i had to trust him so deposited the money into his bank account in cleared funds and had the truck at his door the next day, it all worked out good .
Bikeway Motorcycle Transport were the transport company, very good service, door to door, $400 from Melbourne to Brisbane,. i have used him again for another purchase and the same great service. pretty sure he only does east coast , Melbourne to Brisbane and points inbetween

I'm totally confident this bike is good, the guy sent me a bunch of close up photos. It's only done 4,000km's and it's still got 9 months of warranty. I don't expect it will be any different to ride than the '09. Probably better because of the stage 1.
