Hello all,

First time on here and a recently joined member.  I've looked through various forums but with no luck.  As the title suggests, everytime I take a passenger on my 07 FXST, I'll almost bet my house on the fact that they'll leave traces of their shoes on my exhaust.  I have aftermarket S&S slip on mufflers but standard foot pegs.  Any ideas?  And, yes I know, not having a passenger is a 100% solution but that's not what I'm after.  I'm sure there's plenty of you that have encountered this same problem with probably an equal amount of ingenius solutions.  Any help muchly appreciated.  Cheers in advance.

Have the passenger wear decent boots and get some decent foot pegs.

Thanks all for the ideas. Just to clarify, it's my 13 year old son who's the biggest culprit and he does wear good quality riding boots - and NO, they're not high heels.... LOL.
Thanks to Dlux66.. I think I've found what I was looking for. Your suggestion will definatley do the trick.

Bucket's idea is a good one, other than that all I can think of is relocating the pegs slightly.

Bag their shoes before they jump on!

Get yourself some burnishing steelwool,i ts used to burnish timber and is very fine and wont scratch the chrome at all but it will remove burnt shoe and all the other nasties that burn on your chrome .

Passenger boards is the only way to go or you will have the hair dryer and steel wool out everytime cleaning the dam things
