hi mates,
thanks you for your answers on my other topic,
another question :
i ve recently bought a car and negotiated quite hard to get a good price and no on road cost, as i am planning to order my Fatboy, do i have to negotiate a well ? what can i expect ?
Thanks for your advices
have a nice Christmas.
As the dealers can't get floor/display stock and there is a list as long as your arm of blokes/chicks waiting for new bikes the chances of getting the sort of discount that car dealers throw around are about as good as santa putting one uner your tree. The best part of the " no discount " policy is it keeps the price of used bikes up. The way I look at it is that it just moves the discount to the other end. I have never lost more than a couple of grand and I don't reckon you can count all the bolt on stuff that comes after you buy it but if you buy the same type you can usually rape all the good stuff off the old girl before you sell it.
I ordered a new FXDF Dyna Fatbob in July and that was all I did, no negotation was entered into at that point by the dealer, they wouldn't even commit to a firm trade in price for the old girl.. The best that I reckon I will get out of them are the pipes. My last one came from Frasers in Newcastle and they threw in a helmet, t-shirt and swapped the bars over, they would only do the bars as long as the original cables could be reused.
The dealers know that we are buying " I want " rather than " I need " items...
Best of luck....
no negotiaons entered into down this way while they can sell every new harley they can get their hands on
As has already been stated, no discount means better trade in or private sale when time comes to upgrade.
I much prefer that to being looked at like you just vomited on the salesmans desk when you mention you might like to trade that bike you bought off this very same gentleman two years ago.
cheers
