I noticed today that a screw (star head) was stuck in the centre of the rear tyre, took a chance and rode the 15km home. There has been no loss of air at this stage. Today being Friday I called the dealerships and none of them can repair the tyre for a week or two...they all are to busy.
I called up a tyre place and asked them if they could repair without taking the back wheel off and it can be done, I think he said they plug it from the outside as long as the tyre is tubeless no problem. This is how they repair car tyres.
My question is has anyone had this sort of repair done on their scoots....the bloke insists that it is a permanant fix?
Cheers.

Haven't had the misfortune of a puncture on me scoot yet, but have used the plugs many of times on my cars and trailers, they work a treat.
The plugs work great but you have to be sensible about how fast you travel once plugged, its all about not being stranded somewhere, been using plugs for more than 20yrs on cars, trailers 4x4 etc and never had a failure.
The Cargol ones i posted above are the bees knees in plugs, screw in, snap off, pump up and go
Something has been overlooked: a motorcycle has only two tyres. If one goes....well, need I say more.
I ended up taking the bike to the local Dunlop supplier Saturday morning, they did it straight away. The bloke who did the repair (also a biker) said that he had used these plugs on many occasion and had never had a puncture due to one of these plugs coming out. They are specifically made for tubeless tyres. $20 bucks and 10 minutes later
Had a puncture (Tek screw near the side wall) a couple of years ago on one of our first forum runs, went to me local tyre joint and he refused to put a plug in fearing damage to the cords and possibility of a blow out at speed. I did the temporary repair myself. Then took the bike to SWHD and onto Bearepaires and they also wouldn't repair the tyre, had to replace it. It probably depends on the severity and location of the puncture.
