G'day all, am about to swap out the headlight on the nightster for a better looking one, question is, the factory one has a built in parker light, but the replacement one doesn't, so, will it be fine without a parker bulb , or, should I use a headlight globe with a parker light, ( 3 filament globe ) in the new one, just looking to ensure I get it right the first time around.
Any advice will be greatly accepted.............. thanks in advance .........
OK I've worked out a solution, from what I found out, if the bike has a parker light from the factory then it should have one at all times, could be for incase the main headlight blows, you would still have a light to show there was a vehicle thee ???
Anyway, there is a small flat area in the new light which I will set up a white LED & use the oe wire to set it up.
Now I just have to get a small bracket machined & Bob's ya Aunty
I replaced my headlight with one that didnt have a "park light", just didnt worry about it, have had no problems, I reckon that little light looked shit anyway.
If the headlight blows on a night ride, stick a flashlight in your mouth and continue on " align="absMiddle" border="0" src="/DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif" />
OR carry a miner's helmet with light attached - oh and AuStandards sticker and lining patch
Thanks Walka, got it sorted, have finished doing the set up, now just have to get it powder coated black to match the bike, hope to have it done for the Silverwater bike show
OK finished the headlight swap today, adapted the factory wiring to suit the new one.
Old one front view.
Old one side view.
new one is much longer.
so it sticks out further.
new one front view.
All things considered I think it looks ok, will have to have a ride up the old road one night to see just how good it is.
Hey Toxic, that looks really good....all worth the problems you had getting it fitted eh?
