Just wanted to make a point regarding the "Iron Butt" name. FYO and RED both touched on it earlier, but just fyi I thought I'd try and clear it up.

The Iron Butts Association (www.ironbutt.com) is a World Wide Long distance riding organisation that hosts a number of different rides, such as the Saddle Sore 1000[tm] (a 24 hour 1,000 mile or 1,610km ride), the Bun Burner 1500[tm] (1,500 miles or 2,420kms in 36 hours), and a number of even more challenging rides (not the least of which is the Iron Butt Rally, widely acknowledged to be THE long distance riding event, covering 11,000 miles over 11 days).
The IBA's Australian representatives are the FarRiders (www.farriders.com) who regularly hold 1000km in 24 hr FarRides both in the west and the east. (no Patches, no Trophys, no organized group rides. Just plan your route, ride your bike, and get to the destination in time to have lunch)

At the end of the day it doesn't make much difference, still sounds like a bloody good ride. I just like to call a spade a spade, perhaps you're an Iron Butt, perhaps you're a Hard Arse, but think of it this way, What would you think of the guy who told you he was riding a Harley Fatboy when he's actually on a Yamaha V-Star?
