Anyone else watching this series on TV. As luck will have it I received the DVD recently and have one last episode to go. Which I will watch shortly.

The first series done by Charley and Ewin, " Long Way Round" was a real hit, and I think this series is just as good.

Yeah I know it's made for "sale" series but what the heck it's about blokes having a ball on bikes. Certainly has been a bit of a promorion for the BMW bikes, I bet KTM are regretting not getting on board.

Why am I talking about this series?????, well in the 9th episode Ewin makes reference to his Harley Davidson. As he is cruising through Botswana and a bout 2900km from Cape Town the destination, he is roaring accross an open plain clearly enjoying the moment and he comes out with this:-

"I've got a lovely big touring Harley Davidson in the States, I love it, I love riding it in America.......on my bike. Harley Davidson in the States makes sense. People are snobby about them. People are generally full of shit you know"

    Good onya Ewin..........

Remember in the first series when they visited OCC and later all the boys including the Tutles rode into NY with the lads.

I'm enjoying the series regardless of the bit of hype, great scenery, and even though the session when he rides with his wife, I think its great that he encouraged his wife to get involved with riding bikes. Painful to watch, but I relate to it as I watched my wife re-learn the delights of motorbikes on her trusty little Virago 250.

they have already snatched up various web addresses that might cover a multitude of options for names related to rides in Oz

certainly the 'Long Way Round' was a much better DVD set.... but I like both as I have been fortunate to have visited most of the countries they have riden through..........

Obi Wan's a legend. I have seen the odd episode of both and highly enjoyable - better than most other trash on the box.

My fave bit was episode one of Long Way Down - and he came off and hurt his ankle and the passers-by helping him were more excited that they'd met Ewen McGregor than worrying about his injury.

Mrs Obi Wan coming on the trip is funny for the viewer - painful for Charlie. That said, non-riders connect with her learning to ride. Ain't such a bad thing for them see.
