Hey guys
i have an 07 XL1200C (1200 sportie)
and i want to change my suspension to somethin that rides a little nicer.
i have been looking at B&T manufacturing, smooth ride air shocks http://www.btmfg.com/
i was wondering if the air suspension rides better than your normal shocks,
i dont really care about lowering for looks or anything, i just want it to be more comfy on rough roads.
other shocks i was looking at were progressives, would they be as good or betrter than air?
thanks in advance
charls
reckon you'll find most aftermarket shocks are better than the "agricultural" stock HD ones!
From what I've read, an air ride would be much more forgiving. I've ridden a Road king with them on, but only around town so didn't notice much difference. Did you notice the BT ones are $569 EACH?? They'd want to be bloody good for that money!
I don't have either of these, so can't comment, but Progressive are popular for Sporties and Dynas, and the most talked about big dollar ones would be the Fournales brand. There's also a company in Albury called Ikon Suspension who make what used to be Koni shocks.
If you have the stock seat , you might find changing that will also help comfort levels on long rides
cheers

Got to go with Sime69 anything is better than stock, I whacked a set of progressive on my FXSTC and noticed the difference straight away, firmer in the corners and no bottoming out.
Hi Robbo
a little confused, my mum has a FXSTC, (softail custom) it has a mon shock, how do you fit a set of progressives to a softail?
