Well, the Remus pipes arrived new years eve and went straight onto the XR
Was a bit of a prick to get it fitted up( No instructions) and I bent a header plate clip removing the old system. Thanks to spare parts Scotty though, I had a new clip and got the system fitted up and running in less than a hour.
Took her out for a hills ride today to get some carbon build up in the muffler as it's a bit tinny from new, but is already mellowing out to a nice note.
The weight reduction is very noticable as I had to take some pre-load off the rear shocks to compensate for the weight loss.
Cleans up the rear of the bike with the ugly old muffler hanger plate now removed.
Old rear end pipe and hanger bracket.
Much cleaner
Ran into Lofty and Julie today at mt pleasant and saw the bikes ,Lofty the sporster looks better with the new pipe on and has a nice note and Julie thats a nice ducati sounds great as well they sounded good rumbling of down the road
Where did you get them from, and what sort of $$ with our crap exchange ? What system are you using to tune it ? I'm going to try and get a demo ride when one is available. As a matter of interest, what's quicker the XR or the Duc' ?
Cheers
Now this is different !

Well $1750 isn't too bad for a full sytem like that, given our current $$.
I remember they wanted $2k just for pipes for my KTM950 !! (didn't happen, built some custom mufflers)
With the full system/intake and a tune, you'd have to pick up some decent numbers, maybe not a huge
top end increase but a lot fatter in low/mid range !
Keen to see your opinion when it's all done.
