Well after doing yet more research into fuel tuners I decided to order the V&H fuelpak, ordered it from Rob's Cycle supply on US ebay for $260 AU including delivery.  Went onto the V&H site and they've got a new wizard on there for determining what codes you need to put in:

It's very straight forward and simple, gives me all the options for my bike, ie exact pipes and configuration.  Will do a detailed photo post of the intallation and performance once it arrives and I get a chance to install.

I done a 1200 conversion on mine two weeks ago, I read up a lot on EFi tuners and found that the Thundermax seemed to be the most advanced but also most expensive so the next option (More affordable)  for my application was the TFI module from Dobeck performance, so i found the Australian dealer for them in Melbourne and ordered one for the 07 sportster. After i done the conversion and installed the TFI the bike only ran on the rear cylinder,  after a lot of checking i found the factory ECM could not run the larger capacity engine, even with the TFI, so i phoned the Thundermax agent here (Heavy Duty Cycles in Brisbane) and they sent me one down, The bike runs like a charm and now i can adjust and change all aspects of the engine managment and codes without going to a dealer.

         Cheers Bretho.

Bretho that's great stuff. I will possibly do a 1200 conversion in the future, it's great to see someone who's done it on an 07 bike. Did you do it yourself or did you have it done by someone?

done the conversion at home in the shed, just bored the jugs from 3" to 3.5" and installed wiseco reversed dome pistons so i could use the stock 883 heads,

That's great. Are you happy with the difference in performance compared to the 883?
