As the topic says, looking for a couple of full face helmets as some time ago the grandkids destroyed the stickers on both, dont want to go thru BT's grief.
The nolan N103 looks ok, any ideas fellas, the ones we have now are Shoei, good helmets but looking for something maybe a bit better (vents, visors etc)
Any feedback good or bad is welcomed
Im using the Nolan with the extra dark visor attached i think called a VPS...Well me thinks it6s grouse...........fairly quiet, comfortable and perfect for the Ncom or other system......removeable liner for washing and generally a good fitting helmet for me ol funny shaped noggin....I reccomend it but spend a little more for the VPS....so much better and easily moved up outta the way if need be.....P.S....vents work well.........
Well Hoggy me ol mate, i went on a run with the boys Sunday and used the Nolan......Bout 32c or more on the day and i found i still had visor down most of the time without becoming overly hot......The vents worked well and through towns or slower rds ets i just flipped it up to open the helmet and rode like a open face without problem....Only took it to 90 with it open but didnt even notice any draggin of the head up at that point so i was impressed.....but i did have the windscreen on ....Of course it still got a little sweaty inside but not as much as my open face and this lining can be washed.........I bought it for a little neck relief on longer rides and the best thing i did for me ol achy stuffed up body.....Definatly lets me do a whole lot more kms....But back to ur question...airflow i find to be a winner on the Nolan....i would even say my open face gets hotter on top...
there are some comments on the PSB site in BT's thread... some of the Nolan's are noisy, some less so... so whatever you try, see if the assistant can advise on the noise level from wind
thanks for the comments boys, will check the nolans out
Hi Mainey, Go to Helmet House in Albany Hwy. Victoria Park (they are at the Bentley end) that's where I got my Shoei TZ-R, bloody good helmet but a bit pricey, they have heaps of models and makes to chose from. I'm getting a new open face from them next week........And it will have a shiny sticker on it mate...
Bt
I'm on the lokout for a good helmet for my missus and after reading Hoody's comment, me thinks the Nolan is the go for her.
Thanks boys.
And +1 for what BT wrote, Albany Hwy helmet shop is good. Good service, good choice of helmets great info.
I wear a full face and got it from helmet house at vic park.... i went for the mat black MDS helmet... it was only $129.00 and its a very comfortable helmet... it has vents and is not to noisey either... and like you guys i went everywhere and tried them all on.... but i do feel very comfortable with the full face... when i go out riding and see how many bugs hit my visor on the open road i just smile..... some of the bugs over here have bones in them... i do beleive they dont taste to good either... and if in the unfortunate i ever did come unstuck.... well.. i think i would be happier with the full face hemet.... my 20 cents worth... but hey you have to be comfortable and legal...
Helmet House in Vic Pk it is then, will drop down there and have a squizzy, thanks
