Hi all. I'm new to the forum but am looking for someone in Melbourne to have a look at a bike for me? It's the 2003 Anniversary Sportster advertised in the bikes for sale section. I am in Brisbane looking to swap a Suzuki SV 1000 for it and for demographic reasons can't just pop down the road for a quick look. Please let me know if there are any kind folk willing to help me get off the Suzi and back onto a Harley again. Would be happy to offer some beer money for the trouble.
Thanks for any help offered and any advice in relation to the bike.
Duane
Hey Billfish, welcome mate .....good luck with the purchase
welcome Billfish, hopefully someone will be abletohelp you out.
Bloody good point Wozza. Never check out something for someone else unless its a hot girl about 20 then go for it.
g'day M8 & welcome, can't help re the look see, but, as stated, it's hard for someone else to look at something they are not buying, plus have you spoken to the seller, do they know ya want to swap a bike for a bike.
Either way good luck, me, personally, I;d be looking closer to home, good bikes are out there, ya just have to look
Hey all , thanks for all of your comments too . That's what a forum is all about....great advice about things that I may not have thought about in the excitement of getting a new bike.
In reality the guy is looking for 11 grand for his bike but won't get it in this current market. I have an SV 1000 that I 'think' i should get about the same..... but realistically... i won't . So if I can do a swap ...clean... then ultimately we both would be happy.
Yes the guy knows I am looking for a swap and I guess I am looking at all options really.
I understand that one person's opinion might be different to mine but i would like a third party opinion to make sure the bike is basically as it looks in the ad... and yes I will get it checked from a more professional source.
There are a few bikes in brisbane at the moment so this is all weighing up the possibilities.
Once again thank you for your comments and look forward to how the storey unfolds
