could you just use a few generous windings of electrical or cloth tape round the bars first? I imagine the edges of the brake lever mounts / switch housings would seat themselves in it when you tighten the screws ...?

I had the opposite problem with fitting new Ventura bars, my aftermarket chrome brake lever mounts were a bit too tight to go round 'em...bit of wet & dry fixed that !

    good luck mate

I have this problem regularly with other bikes when I change from the poofta clip on bars to manly motocross style bars.

    1. Tear off a small strip of wet and dry sandpaper
    2. insert into where the switchblock grips the bar
    3. tighten the switchblock
    4. Stand back and wonder at your own ingenuity and how lucky your missus must be to have a borderline genius for a partner.
